How far is Gastown from the Citadel?

Google tells me if you're a person of average height, the horizon is 2.9 miles away. I'm guessing Gastown is actually much farther than 2.9 miles from the Citadel, and they can only use heliographs to communicate with each other because the Citadel is so tall, and Gastown has some tall structures.

So, is there any thinking on exactly how far they might be from each other?

got to be about 3-4 miles and that's just an off the top of my head guess. You can see it on the horizon just after you leave The Citadel so it can't be that far.

Luckily there's a very useful shot from Furiosa's POV looking back at the Citadel in the mirror, and then up to Gastown - and semi-truck mirrors are a standard height, so you can figure out the arc they subtend! From this, I figured out a few things: Gastown is about 3 miles from the Citadel, Furiosa was 2 miles into the journey when she turned, and the Citadel is 400 feet tall.

But if Furiosa can see both from her truck, wouldn't that mean each could be 2.9 miles from her midpoint?

I want to feel like the two landmarks are farther away from each other, because everybody made such a big deal about the journey. One would think if Immortan Joe is going to deliver some big speech and salute his imperator and all that, maybe it might be for something a bit bigger than a three-mile drive.

She also had to go to the Bullet Farm which could have been alot further away. All we really know is what direction it's in >_<

On one of the Facebook videos there is a map showing where Gastown and the Bullet Farm are in relation to the Citadel and Canyon.

I'm guessing its a weekly journey, bring food, milk and water to Gastown and the Bullet Farm, collect bullets and gas. There would also be trips bringing slave workers and new warboys to both places.

judging by how big a ceremony it is when they leave, what with Joe's speech and giving the wretched water etc., i'd say it's more monthly.

"ONCE AGAIN I SEND OFF MY WAR RIG TO BRING BACK GUZZOLINE FROM GASTOWN BULLETS FROM THE BULLET FARM..."

With his reverence towards his Imperator and half life war boys, i doubt he makes that speech weekly, or else it would lose it's power, ya dig what i mean?

OR the convoy is a weekly trip and just his speeches and water sharing is monthly?

Is it possible to have a picture of the map, please?

Frequency might be dictated by how long un-pasteurised and in-refrigerated milk lasts. It could be a daily ceremony for all we know, with the pomp and circumstance designed to lord it over the wretched.

THERE YOU GO

You're gonna have to piece it together, but it looks like this is the official 'map' of Fury Road's setting. Too bad it doesn't show what's beyond the Green Place.
