Madness of Mad Max Documentary is available now

Post by deaftard »

Well this was certainly a surprise for me since I check out the latest new releases on amazon every tuesday and the Madness of Max documentary just suddenly appeared!

http://www.amazon.com/Madness-Max-Mel-G ... 013DS60FO/

I haven't bought it yet because I want to know if the documentary will be released on DVD/Blu Ray in the future.

As of now it is $14.99 on amazon instant video via Standard Definition.

Has anyone here seen it yet because I've read reports about this documentary being filmed/finished years ago.
thanks!

Wow.. 2hr 37m runtime.. You bloody ripper!!

It's also being included as a bonus dvd that'll be in the blu ray anthology set that's coming early September. It was enough to sway me into going for that set already and that runtime has just made my enthusiasm for it even greater now. 8-)

I bought it thru Amazon video. It's an excellent documentary, and I highly recommend it. It was really neat hearing the perspectives of everyone involved, and they even spend some time on Byron Kennedy's involvement with the film. Everyone interviewed had interesting input. It's 2.5 hours of pure Max history.

Did they show any behind the scenes footage or deleted scenes? In 'Not Quite Hollywood' we got a glimpse of about 4 seconds of home video footage of the Nightrider crash set up. I loved it, but I can't imagine that is all the seconds there was of behind the scenes. Plus I would like to know if they ever show the deleted 'River-side first-aid scene that was filmed and shown in at the beginning of MM2. Cheers.

Time to keep out of this thread. I'm curious also what new footage may be on this but i wanna watch it for the first time without knowing any specifics of what that may be beforehand. It'll make all those, holy f...ing sh.t moments that much better during the viewing. The doco sounds like it will be simply amazing really with just the number of interviewed people. Memories of the day from those involved. It'll be good!

I''m a waiting for the Anthology set so a few more weeks to go.. I know what will be playing that night though. :D

Yes, they show lots of bits and pieces of various things, both filmed and production still photos. You will see parts of the Nightrider crash that are definitely not on film. No deleted scenes are shown (no "by the river first aid" scene), but it's way worth it for all the interviews and insights. They showed a little bit of a lot of different things, even camera angles, etc. I am sure we would have all liked to have seen more of [insert your favorite movie part here], but they covered a lot of ground in a 2.5 hour time frame and all of it was very well done.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about a UK release? Because I'm honestly dying to watch it, having to wait is going to drive me insane, and the fact I have not clue when or even IF there will be a UK release makes the whole situation worse.
I've tried YouTube, iTunes and Amazon, but non of them will let me buy it over here. I've tried those 'unlock blocked videos in your country' things as well, to no avail. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
