The best Mad Max references in other things?

Post by Turbofurball »

Off the top of my head, there's

Puretone's Addicted to Bass

Gorrillaz Skylo (slightly tenuous, but Bruce Willis mimics the MM1 poster pose at the end)

Resident Evil - Extinction pinches some shots and the commentary mentions MM2 as an inspiration

And my favourite, Doomsday, which has a solid 20 minute car chase very much pulled from MM2 :)

And then there's odds and sods like when Mel Gibson appeared on The Simpsons ... what else is out there, though?

South Park - Proper Condom Use at 15:30. Cool take on the Humungus speech to the people in the compound:)

Cartoons seem to reference it a lot, Rugrats had a reference and so did Futurama I'm pretty sure - Fry went into the future and found that the world appeared to be a wasteland ruled by kids - haha.

I think the South Park guys are big Mad Max fans. They reference the movies in quite a few episodes. I can't remember if it was Stan or Kyle that had a Road Warrior movie poster in their bedroom.

The writers of the movie "Saw" had said they got the idea from the last scene in Mad Max.

Reboot did a full Road Warrior episode. Kind of a weird Tron storyline for the show and then mix in RW for an episode.

Other references in the episode include the Batmobile and Interocitor (The communication devices in the 50's movie This Island Earth)

I so desperately want to build an Interocitor 'frame' for my flatscreen, but for some reason my wife won't let me.

The game "Fallout" had you wandering the wasteland with your trusty dog. This was a nod to the Road Warrior by the game developers.

Fallout 4 comes out in November and the dog returns.

It's not the same breed in Fallout 4 though, looks like a German Shepherd.
