My Max costume progress

As I may have mentioned elsewhere, this is a budget build, so I'm working with mostly found/scrounged parts and "Close enough" levels of accuracy.

The jacket is one I already owned - 90s era leather biker jacket with, unfortunately, quilted padding on the shoulders and elbows.
Still, I used one elbow pad for the knee brace, and the other is getting chopped off!

The vest is a South African assault vest I already owned for Airsoft. Luckily, I never got round to adding the graffiti to it for a Ninja costume, from Chappie!
I've now removed the large pouch, and added a few extra pouches I had lying around.
The water tube is from an old Camelbak ( I do have a medical oxygen tube somewhere, just not sure WHERE! )

And the leg brace is made from some scraps of aluminium, with nuts and bolts ground down to look like rivets.
The buckles on the strapping will be from a set of incorrect hand-egg armour I got from a friend, with pieces of leather belt attached.

Oh, and I modded some binoculars too!
Five quid from a charity shop... Not quite right for Mad Max, but I had bits off a light fitting that I removed to make changing bulbs easier.
Bit of black paint, touch of dremelling, and they screw right in between the lenses and the body!

The aforementioned binoculars :)

And here's the costume in "Road Warrior" configuration - Basically, a black shirt instead of the grey one, and no tac vest.

I still need to add the shotgun holster and boot knife, and a few bits and bobs to the belt kit...

Any suggestions for improvements?
( I'll get some better pics of the brace later... )

Hey Scapey, cool costume.

I made something similar for a Halloween party in '86. I actually bolted the brace I fabbed up through the heel of my boot, which I drilled and later refilled.
