I read that last night , I sent him a crowbar to help him fit his theory

The theory is intriguing buuuttttttttt one poster made a few comments :

- At the beginning of the movie Max says he was a policeman.
- His first words are "My name is Max"
- We see the words "Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky" on the screen
- A major part of the story hinges around the character regaining some semblance of humanity; he can then finally tell someone what his name is. That name is... what? Why, it's Max, of course;
- George Miller, Hardy, Theron and numerous others involved with the film have confirmed the character is Max - Miller in particular has talked about where Hardy's version does/does not fit into the franchise's already loose chronology;
- Brendan "co-writer" McCarthy's storyboards from the late 90's feature Gibson's likeness doing the things which Hardy does in the actual finished film. So, unless Gibson was confusingly due to play the Feral Kid for some reason, their shared character is, of course, Max;
- These aren't the sorts of films to feature identity twists; part of the appeal of their stripped down narrative is that the characters are basically archetypes and cyphers;
- It simply makes absolutely no sense for the character to be The Feral Kid. None.

It could be cool if we create a thread gathering all the original documents and stuff in one place.

I had read that article and agree it's an interesting theory. I can't argue that it certainly helps the timeline make sense. The observations of Max's limited dialogue and grunting certainly made me think about the possibility. We know that without Mel the story has gone through some dramatic changes and what we've seen would have been different with him in it. BUT, there are things that just won't work.

The Feral Kid became the leader of the Northern Tribe after the Gyro Captain from what I remember him saying at the end of Mad Max 2, no?

Just found this, not sure if it's new but it's dated today. It's just a short interview clip where they ask Miller about the fan theory that Fury Road's Max is the Feral Kid.
