Need an Interceptor in the UK!!!! Help!
Need an Interceptor in the UK!!!! Help!
Hello there, my Dogs of War ...
I am new to the site (what an enormous oversight on my part) but I am a long-time MM fanatic. Since MM was first advertised on TV and then on through tape-shredding repeat viewings of 1 and 2 on VHS and Beta, and then a cinematic jaunt Beyond Thunderdome, I have longed to be Mad Max. (Or Snake Plissken ... what a combo, eh?) I sport the RW blonde streak and the leathers, with MFP insignia ... BUT I NEED THE CAR!!!!
Now, I've looked at MMCars, which appear to be the Dog's Dinki-Di's, but the cost is something that would necessitate a big inheritance from the likes of my great Aunty Entity (or even the redoubtable Aunt May) and a potential divorce. So, my question is ... what is my best option in the UK?
Ford Capri?
Imported Mustang - there appears to be loads of them around?
Would the cheaper Capri be able to take on board the MMBodykit from MMCars?
Is the more robust and muscular Mondeo the way to go???
I just don't know. And I'm tearing the blonde streak out over this now!!!!!! Fury Road bears down upon us and want to be Maxx'd to the Max in time for its thunderous unveiling!!!!
Any help and suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Check out the cars section a bit. Plenty of people have made MM inspired cars.MadMac12 wrote: Ford Capri?

It's all up to your imagination.
Mustang mach 1:

Ford capri:

Also the MM bodykit won't fit a capri. The kit would have to be cut up and glassed back together to fit the smaller dimensions of the capri. And since it's a fairly expensive, it would probably cost more than the capri.

Many thanks, DarkOne
I will check it out right away. I love the look of the Capri. That is quite an impressive piece of work.
Thanks again, mate.

I'd look for a Ganada Coupe. it's bigger than the Capri.

Looking good!
Nice suggestion. Similar shape, but there is an appreciable amount more meat on the Granada. My 7 year old daughter is on the case now too. She keeps spotting cars that she reckons would make for a fine Interceptor. That's my girl.
No Granada Coupes in my neck of the woods at first glance. Plenty of Capris though - in varying states.
The search goes on.
Cheers

Anyone remember that falcon xa coupe that went for sale last year on ebay uk? Can't believe i missed out on that thing. If i'd only had the room and a trailer back then , i would be driving a falcon.

Taunus is FWD, correct? I really liked the looks of them, maybe more so than the Granada.

Huh, whaddya know....I'd have sworn the Taunus was FWD. Did it share platforms with the Consul/Granada at that point?
Edit- searched and found my own answer. Now I just need to find a Taunus fastback....
