I had stories of these told to me by the father of an old friend. These used to be killer chasing folks down Parramatta Rd but in the small, narrow streets of the Inner West, they were useless.
Luckily, people trying to escape usually tried for a bigger V8, which lumbered through these streets like a bathtub, so apparently the used Mini Coopers in these areas which would stick to their tails like glue. If they made it out to the arterial roads, the big V8s would chase them down.
Now they usually have some Suburu sports sedans for inner city suburb work as they have the speed and the agility.
