My Mad Max Timeline website is up!
Hello Marauders,
Enjoy my hard work if you want:
THE MAD MAX TIMELINE
http://madmaxtimeline.blogspot.com/
The original trilogy: "Mad Max" (1979), "Mad Max 2" (1981) aka "The Road Warrior" and "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" (1985).
Of course, "Mad Max: Fury Road" (2015) is an alternate universe, so there's a standalone timeline only for it.
I think you will enjoy my timelines and articles, because they truly explain a lot about the two 'Maxes' and their worlds.
Thank you and... have a nice read!

Re: My Mad Max Timeline blog is up!
Yeah a couple of things:
Mad Max 2 takes place 2 years after the first one, so if MM was in 94, it'd make RW in 96, not 2001.
The whole apocalypse thing as I see it (and I do have some documents to prove it):
Initially the war was in the Persian Gulf between Saudi Arabia and Iran. All out conventional war that left the oil fields devastated. "Two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all" - talking about setting the oil fields on fire. That caused fuel shortages & the global economic crisis (during which MM takes place).
People fled from cities out into the wastelands (MM2)
I wouldn't say that there was truce during the events of MM2 because there was no war then, just a giant economic crisis that had already spiralled out of control.
Shit really hit the fan right after MM2. The growing tensions escalated and someone pushed the button. It's hard to tell who started it, but everyone was involved and everyone got screwed over, nuclear winter etc.
So, if you put the events of MM2 in 96 it would make so much more sense.

No man, sorry, I don't agree at all! There a way bigger timespan inbetween MM1 and MM2, where the apocalypse happened. As simple as that.
Peter Burton, please, can you add the link to the Mad Max site list? Thank you so much.

I think it was pretty much confirmed by Miller himself that MM2 takes place 2 years after the first one.

Fact is, the creature goes far beyond the creator.Taipan wrote:I think it was pretty much confirmed by Miller himself that MM2 takes place 2 years after the first one.
I think it is a bigger timespan.

Miller said 3/4 years or so. He was uncertain. The Feral Kid is 7 years old and he lost his parents during the apocalypse.Taipan wrote:Yeah but then you're just making stuff up:) Let's see what other forum members think.
The Captain Walker flight happened before the nuclear holocaust, and before the Road Warrior phase. The nuclear holocaust happened before the Road Warrior phase.

Re: My Mad Max Timeline blog is up!
Two things...
-Nightrider makes a comment about how 'it's all gone, there'll be nothing left'. I always took that to mean the war, the collapse, had already happened.
-Listen to the intro to RW. The war, which I believe is 'the blaze which engulfed them all', is a reference to a world war or a war between super powers that by default wrecks everything for everyone and leads to the machines sputtering and stopping. Then it talks about the looting, pillaging and gangs taking over the roads. Then Max.
I take these two things to mean that the war had already taken place by the time we see Max. Even the nuclear exchange evidenced in Thunderdome may have already happened. Look at how bad the MFP headquarters is. That kind of decay doesn't happen that fast, it's been bad for sometime.
I seem to recall GM saying that RW was 4-5 years after MM and Thunderdome was 10 or so after that.

Re: My Mad Max Timeline blog is up!
Didn't the novelizations expand or talk a little bit more of the events between MM1-2 and after MM2? I haven't read them but found a couple of links that said the books mention that a few weeks after Max had his revenge against Toecutter's gang that "the world had finally blown itself to hell a few weeks later it had seemed only fitting. He had taken off alone into the wastes and lived there ever since". Another link mentioned the Gyro Captain died in 2013 according to the novels too...maybe you guys with copies can verify?
I see we're into the Jed=Gyro thing again...

Interesting. I've read Mad Max 2 in a french version years ago. But I remember it and the translation fits perfectly.DGSimo wrote:Didn't the novelizations expand or talk a little bit more of the events between MM1-2 and after MM2?
