Two new observations on yet another viewing of MM1

When Roop tears the hood off his Pursuit car, it lands with the underside facing up. In the next shot, as he comes around the front of the car, the hood is farther away and right-side-up.
Assuming that the cameraman was holding the camera with his right hand, he could have held Roop's shotgun out the window with his left hand on the forend, instead of holding it by the pistol grip, and it would have eliminated that obvious gaffe. (It would probably have been steadier as well.)
