First Official Look + Images for Mad Max: Fury Road!
Re: First Official Look + Images for Mad Max: Fury Road!
The theory of the War Boys being a religious cult could also be supported by the travelling stage vehicle we've seen. It could be the whole flaming guitars performance is part of some sort of worship or gospel spreading.

Furiousa has the flaming skull emblem on her belt buckle.MWFV8 wrote:DGSimo wrote:Also it seems we have two clear gangs, one who drive vehicles down to metal bodywork and ones who drive black vehicles plastered in these burning skull emblems.
Also in those pages of script that was leaked last year or so there was a reference to Imperator #1 and #2

I wonder how many Imperators there actually are. If Furiousa is one of them, who are the others?
Re: First Official Look + Images for Mad Max: Fury Road!
Imperator#1 - Furiosa
Imperator#2 - Immortan Joe ?
Imperator#2 - Immortan Joe ?

I would have thought Furiousa would be referred to by name within any script pages. As would any significant Antagonist.
If she is an Imperator and leaves, that would mean her commanding position would be need to be filled (assuming that's the context of her title). Either Imperator #1 or #2 may be who's stepped up to fill her shoes.

Re: First Official Look + Images for Mad Max: Fury Road!
Another possibility to consider is that Furiousa has been masquerading as a man from day one of any involvement with the War Boys or Citadel. Perhaps for her own safety. Maybe Nux is the only person who knows this and she regrettably had to have him silenced while she's worked her way up as a commander. Part of the reason I think that's a possibility is she's credited as Imperator Furiousa rather than the feminine Imperatrix. It might be that she has her head painted black and wears those goggles shown in one of the shots as part of her disguise early on.

Don't forget the spikey car gang! Also it seems we have two clear gangs
Re: First Official Look + Images for Mad Max: Fury Road!
My theory is that Furiosa was running the Citadel with Immortan Joe. The population of that 'town' was all kinds of sick, people using blood transfusions to survive (Nux), people damaged by radiation and diseases, worshipping cars and doing hacky medical jobs (Organic Mechanic). The Five Wives were of pure breed, i.e. healthy - making them prescious. Maybe at some point Immortan Joe and Furiosa had a falling out, maybe Furiosa's mother instincts kicked in and she didn't want to see those women get used as breeding material. So she took off with them in the War Rig.
Max just so happened to be captured in the Citadel, his car stolen and used as a blood bag for Nux. Nux went chasing after Furiosa with other guys and Max strapped to his car. Got demolished by Furiosa and the War Boys, Max was free and offered to help if he gets his car back that was now modified into the silver interceptor in the Citadel.
That's all I got. Don't know how Gasstown gang fits in this other than being a band of marauders trying to get Furiosa and the Five Wives. Nor do I know where Richtus Erectus or the Bullet Farmer fall in there. 2 more weeks till San Diego Comic Con, after that we can definitely piece together some facts about the plot.

Mel Gibson talks a little about Fury Road and compliments Tom Hardy in this 20 minute interview. FF to the 2 minute mark.
