Ok this is just eating at me. All the MM fans currently residing in Australia need to all get together and march down there to rescue three pieces of history before they rust into nothing. It's simple and not that hard. Give the guy a serious talk and for the heck of it tell him you are gonna start a Mad Max Museum but don't mention it will only be in buisness during MM get togethers. Give him all the money you have together. I'm in Salem Oregon USA so I can't do anything but you can. JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR THE BEST CHANCE WE'VE GOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anybody spoken to the owner before about purchasing?
I mean for instance, Bob Fursenko approached Ray Evans and bought the original car from his wreckers yard.
Surely the snake tow truck would be purchasable nowdays in its current state?

It is so unfortunate. Many have tryed. Most famously (but probably far from the first) were the "Welcome to Wherever You Are" doco guys. They just wanted to see it! He was cool enough to bring them out to back to the max though.
I wont be one to speak anything bad at all about the owner, because if it were not for him there would be no cobra truck or buggy or Intercpetor wreck left, so for that reason if no other I suppose he can do what he wants with them................. However, I am quite distressed to see those pieces of history left to deteriorate, and have to agree that they "should" be gathered into a museum dedicated to Mad Max before it is too late.

I tried back in the early 90's when they wer still out near the old plane wreck shed,( the interceptor still had both tanks, there was also a p76 camera car) was no go back then and it doesn't seem much has changed........

Its Mount Ridley road.

IF you download the google earth file listed on this page it will show you:
http://www.madmaxmovies.com/mad-max/fil ... index.html

And like Peter said at the bottom of that page, please remember these are private residence, dont be blaspheming, makes it hard for the next fan who shows up and asks if they can come inside for a look.
We are 100% snafu....

Thanks for the tip,

Had the general area right... wow, imagine going to school at Hume Anglican Grammar!

First time on Google Earth for me tonight. Brilliant... now I know where Jessie and Sprog were taken down. I love that piece of road and who would have thought that was where they met their fate. Also where the Nightrider bought it on Bacchus Marsh - Geelong Road.

Cheers guys!

So where were the Rockatansky swimming scenes shot?
