With a name like Fury Road, it has GOT to have cars, chases and a pissed off Max.

ONE movie WITHOUT that was enough. Get back to the roots.

Hi Hey thanks GTHO for the support, (in the earlier post) ha ha ha .. Gant and I building a few replica Interceptor's for Mel to drive in ho ho ho -- I wish !!

You never know... so George Miller get into this.. http://www.geocities.com/Mad_Max_Parts/1build.html

Seriously I expect that Miller looks at guys like us a fanatics, just like George Lucas does and like the Starwars film people do. Look at how Starwars fan sites were treated, Lucas film told them to pull them down or they would be sued. I don't know all the details but that is the drift of it.

Each cult film attracts with the film makers call fanatics, (devoted fans) to them we do not represent the mainstream viewing public.

I doubt if they bother with our opinions or ideas. Because they figure that we will blindly swallow what ever they send to us in celluloid.

I think that the average Max fan is way smarter than that way smarter. But you know Hollywood full of crap. I hope George thinks .. when I made the first film I was raw, Hollywood was as distant as the moon, how did think back then? Perhaps that is the guide for the future.

But I bet Hollywood screw there faces up at us.. a pity because I reckon most of the people on this site board are on the right track. If Miller followed the old advertising adage that one response is worth the opinon of a thousand that did not respond then we on this message board and our opinions become much stronger.

But I am happy to be made to eat my words on this.. I don't mind being wrong on this topic at all.

Cheers

I hope that they choose a long time devoted fan to produce the vehicles and not some 'movie car' maker who would see it as another job or some mercenary who will make the cars and SELL the plans to devoted fans willing to pay whatever for their dream.

Whoever is choosen should document everything for those who will come after him/her.

I think they are smart enough to make the right choice, power to that person. Make something we can be proud of.

You guys should write a letter of support to the producers and offer any needed assistance. (Continuity, any expanded universe info, contact info for replica creators etc.)

I can undestand why one would say that Max does not show op for Thunderdome. Although I would never say thunderdome is a lousy picture, for my taste it doesn't rank at all close to the MM and MM2. Sure it is a logical progression of a charecter but a human beings path doesn't always have the most exciting results. One one like to see. Gooses progression, two hours of a horribly disfigured mans struggel to earn respect in a not so forgiving world, might make a decent drama but that is not what made his charecter shine on the silver screen. Max is at his best when his psychologicaly scorched mind is at its darkest. What makes him unique is that he is an anti-hero, he doesnt fight for the future of man kind, his path is wraped in vengance and survival, Seeing him emerge from this shell didn't sit well with me. It was a decent movie but a better title would be to omit the Mad leaving it just Max Beyon Thunderdome.

Ahh, the anti-hero. Reminds me of a paper I wrote in school years and years ago. Uses Max as an example :P

Max Rockatansky v. Indiana Jones, now there's a thought. COME ON!!! Indy was running around Nazi Germany in the late 30's & 40's, how old would he be when facing Max???

Not that it really matters coz Indy is immortal, having drank from the cup of Christ, so Max may as well throw sand in his face as that's about the most he, or anyone else for that matter, could do to hurt Indy.

Anyway, there's gotta be heaps of high speed stunts, big grunty V8's (so who cares if fuel supplies are all but gone- so too would be the manufacturers of all the other crap: spark plugs, rust inhibitor, tyres, suspension components, etc, etc.), and of course Max needs a purpose- a reason to go on, something worth fighting for. Maybe he finds his way back to what's left of the city?? Maybe he meets up with the folks from the compound in MM2?? Maybe he finds an old MFP sedan?? Does anyone know George or Byron or Mel?? We want answers, dammit!!!!!!!! Just an overview, without giving away too much- PLEASE!!

I hope it's better than the last movie George Miller produced. I was flipping through the channels and saw Miller talking to a reporter. The movie was about a dog befriending a dolphin and their adventures together. I just hope MM4 isn't about Max saving a can of dolphin-free tuna from some dingos whilst driving the cow car.

MFP559- Sorry to tell you this buddy, but Byron Kennedy has been...umm, running the roads with Saint Peter for the last 17(?) yrs. now.

Now there's an idea! How do we cannonize Peter Barton for having one of the coolest sites? "Saint Peter of Maxdom." Or just knight him, "Sir Peter of Maxalot."

Gotta lay off the sake...

I realy hope there is lots of concrete in MM4. Hopefuly fury road will be some kind of intersrate rather than an endless maze of small unpaved track. Desert Baha(sp) type situations are great, but there is somthing more menacing about the white line nightmare. Having ones flesh torn off by 80mph concrete is cooler than breaking ones neck on a stray rock or sand dune. i perfer suped up street racers to dune buggies. concrete also lets us have some remenance of the old civilization.
