rotoraiders? Would they have been aerial vehicles like the gyrocopter?

Yes, they would be part of the Buzzards I believe. Check out this piece of concept art.

Man that would've been absolutely amazing if they'd it in the movie. Something to save for the next one i guess, or perhaps it was a little too out there for them as it's clearly quite a bit different to the gyrocopter.

Wow. I didn't realize those scenes were that far in development. I thought that idea was scrapped early on. Do you know when those vehicles were built? I.e. before 2003?

Rotoraiders would have fitted in with the wacky "necroboyz/Warlord" concept they originally had.

They must have changed up the trap scenes to where the Convey car sets of the Buzzard trap.

No idea, all I know is that there were vehicles built called "RotoRaider #1" and "RotoRaider #2"...

Rotoraiders were supposed to be the Vuvalini and their scene was going to happen after Max blew up the Bullet Farmer. It went like this: Furiosa saw a faint light in the fog and motor engine, she was ready to shoot them because she thought those were the Citadel guys but those lights went up and turns out those were the Rotoraiders. They flew over the War Rig. Concept art shows them being gunned down by Immortan Joe. Removed because it felt unnecessary and it didn't move the story forward, also was too difficult to film.
I think what's left of that scene in Fury Road is when Furiosa is aiming the gun at the fog and Max emerges from it with the loot. Not sure tho, but I read somewhere that they reduced the whole scene to just that.

There was also a hovercraft scene coined by McCarthy - early in development. The hovercraft tribe was luring war boys into quicksand but that idea was ditched real quick. Apparently it became the genesis of the whole Night Bog sequence.

Wonder what year model the Yamaha YZ450F's were because when they were originally acquired for the movie in 2003 a whole container load of them were shipped to Namibia , my old boss ended up with one in a shady side deal with someone connected to the movie

Persistance pays off Cal now you have to match all the bikes to the pics haha ;)

There is also the unused scene where Furiosa is looking out the top of the War Rig in the dark, it must have been an early rotoraider scene that was edited up for the trailer.
