Actually, it wasn't the spray paint on the car, but it being up on blocks with no wheels. I remember how the wheels were stolen on the 57 Chevy and the character fussing over needing 'Chevy wheels'. I saw this film just once back in about 1986 or so. I need to locate a DVD copy.

I instantly knew it was "Dead End Drive-In." Probably because I own it and it was one of my favorite films.

In honor of your 25th anniversary (more or less) of when you saw this movie, here are a couple of screen shots!
A nice iconic shot that I particularly like.
Ahh! The Post-Apocalyptic 80's...I miss them so much! Even the people were spray painted.
I think that's Guy Norris sticking out of the roof...notice all the spray paint. Don't forget the sage advice behind Guy.

Thanks for the pics. I definitely need to find the DVD. Another fav of mine from that time was 'Running On Empty', or 'Fast Lane Fever' as it was released over here.
