One of the most horrible thing people do to classic cars is put modern wheels/rims on them, it's looks terrible.
While you haven't done that, you have made a tasteful 50/50, so good on you.

I like the larger wheels, and they let you run modern tires and decent brakes. The old 14" and 15" stuff just pales in comparison IMO 8-)

(I want to drop the back of the car about an 1"...but I will see what it does with a full tank of petrol)

Once you fill the tank and do a few 1st- 2nd and 3rd gear burn outs it may just sit fine
The car looks great with the wheel and tire combo!!!

Here it is !

Done mechanically now, just need to pay the rego and run it around some. :D I've still have some interior stuff to do, been working on the audio system lately, but it's work time again, and I have a bunch of vehicles to buy and containers to load (with the dollar the way it is, got a ton of orders coming in!) so won't really have time to finish the rest of the car off for about 5 weeks now.

Them rims really don't accent the car well man.they give it a goofy look imho! You don't have to run a 14 or 15 inch rim but at least something that fits the flow & the lines of the car

I need the 18" rims to clear my 14.25" brakes, so they are there for a reason. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like the larger wheel look, the fact 18" tires are very good compared to most 15" stuff, etc. 8-)

The wheels look great. I'm not a fan of big wheels, low profile tyres, or modern designs on old cars either. But I don't think those wheels check any of those boxes.
They are a somewhat 1980's design, and that's fine by me, cause that is when people were really starting to do these cars up.
I have always been a Ford fan, but Torana's hold a special place in every Aussie's heart. Your pics have almost 100% convinced me this is the car I should restore. (But I still want a BOB :D )
