The advantages of not deleting emails!!! this was sent to me and John in November 2004....
[div]Hi Guys.[/font][/div]
[div][/font] [/div]
[div]We are about 70% done with the roll cage, I will send some pictures ASAP.[/font][/div]
[div]In what we have done so far it is only the main (behind the driver) hoop we are not happy with, and that is a pity as it is a major focal point. In the finished product all in black with the black head lining it will be OK, but to us it is not quite what we wanted.[/font][/div]
[div]When something on the replicas is correct it seems to scream correct at you, what we have done is not screaming correct at us .[/font][/div]
[div]We are unsure what we exactly did wrong, after more DVD watching we added a varying radius to the roll bar as it headed toward the head lining, but I do not thnk that is the issue, we allowed about a 2 and a half inch rise to the centre of the hoop (middle of the car). In hind sight we might have been better using just a 1 to 1.5 inch lift to the centre.[/font][/div]
[div]I think that might be our major failure.[/font][/div]
[div]We also think that we perhaps should have gone with 2 inch steel pipe, not the 2.5 that we did use. But we are glad that we did not go with the three inch stuff.[/font][/div]
[div]We have used some 2 inch and that looks a bit small so the reality might be between two and two point five inch steel.[/font][/div]
[div]That one single main hoop took us over 8 hours to make, so we are not likely to repeat that event in a hurry![/font][/div]
[div]Not unless we knew exactly what to do.[/font][/div]
[div]The cage is making the car look a beast, but we just can't convince ourselves that it is film correct.[/font][/div]
[div][/font] [/div]
[div]But one thing is for sure ... your visit to the measuem and the drawings you sent has made the cage 100% better than any other result that we would have achieved. [/font][/div]
[div][/font] [/div]
[div]Sorry that I have not got any pictures as yet but I will have some in a day or so.[/font][/div]
[div]We worked on the cage till about 8:00 PM last night, and just have not transferred them as yet.[/font][/font][/div]
[div][/font][/font] [/div]
[div]Best regards[/font][/font][/div]
[div]Gordon.[/font][/font][/div]

you would have known that roof spoiler was wrong when it was just sitting on there! surely??? at any rate i may have ticked a few of you off, but not to worry! opinions are like sock puppets! every ones got one!!!

and as i said, there has been alot of good work out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, its just with the wrong parts! take the rest how you see fit. its been a fair statement! you just jumped up and down over it! will pass on the Batman forum as I did with this one for long time!

yes I maybe should have aimed at one person but I chose just to say it how it is! honesty is the best policy! and reason for pulling the pin on building replica incorector/interceptors and batmobiles for now is also more so due to something quite serious happening here! hoperfully socky hasnt destroyed Gordons ego to much as I am sure he had alot to say on many things, but like my comments with incorectors has inflamed everyone so much now that I hope every one knows how Gordon felt with years of enjoyment gone due to the attitude of someone with two 3icks because you couldnt be that much of a 92652 with one!!!!!!!!!!!

below is straight from the site lastinterceptor.com the other site may be through Gordon, this is the only one I deal with!

REPLICA BUILDING:

With both Interceptors now across the sea in the USA, Grant and Gordon found themselves equipped with the years of collected Interceptor knowledge, but no replicas. This situation changed as requests for more Interceptors started drifting in. The initial request was handled by Grant Hodgson, with Gordon supplying the monza nose and roof spoiler. This was the Interceptor commissioned by Steve Pliant from the USA, and it is now owned by Bill Brown in the state of Oregon[/font]

So Grant, it was us that made you use 3 inch?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not the fact that you couldn't make up your own mind as to use the 2 inch or 2.5 inch or 3 inch or 2 or 2.5 or2 or3 or....................

well a bit like your roof spoiler i spose, although i honestly would have thought you would have know the roof spoiler was way out before fitment. the roll cage centre bar, was built, then sat in an it looked mmm ok, then when it was completed it really stood out, then decided it was best left there, as it was something people could pic on, as we know they would, but on top of that it also gave the roll cage a presance, like look at me! i am one solid little puppy!

i am not surprised you were overwhelmed by the car hen you saw it, i bet it was a beast to look at.

regards Grant

So this statement includes the cars YOU and Gordon built ???

"""but like my comments with incorectors has inflamed everyone so much now that I hope every one knows how Gordon felt with years of enjoyment gone due to the attitude of someone with two 3icks because you couldnt be that much of a 92652 with one!!!!!!!!!!!""

What the ???!!? 92652 ???

"""below is straight from the site lastinterceptor.com the other site may be through Gordon, this is the only one I deal with!"""

I dont understand what that quote from your website has to do with anything???

Are you not partners with Gordon? Again.. surely YOU know what is on YOUR website...

Again... these quotes come from YOUR website
[div]"""These machines we build are not just "mock-up's" or "look-a-likes" but "fair dinkum" movie authentic high performance vehicles. Based on the Australian XB Falcon coupe, the replicas are the living, driving image of the film Interceptor."""[/div][/font]
[div]

""" Following the sale of Gordon's and Grant's replica Interceptors, these two were in possession of years of accumulated Mad Max and XB Falcon knowledge. They also had access to all of the correct moulds, and the established connections and support structure for the further manufacture of Mad Max replicas. So as Grant and Gordon both enjoyed the Mad Max Interceptor history and myth they eventually said yes to the building of another replica."""

"""Top of the Line
Film-Correct

Pursuit Special Interceptor Replica

$80,000 AUD

"Like it drove out of the screen!"
[/div][/font]

Yet you claim to have no knowledge of these lines??? They appear in lastinterceptor.com....

You go on and on about incorrect parts..... yet you ! yourself have used the incorrect parts !!!

Grant,

You are BAFFLING, I dont understand what you are trying to say. Incoherant ramblings.

I chose just to say it how it is! honesty is the best policy

This is the reason you are in this predicament. You are not getting it at all.

If anyone has destroyed Gordons ego, it certainly wasn't me, You did this all on your own.

Gordon stated on 26 April 2007 that: Actually the more colourful "puppet" never really bothered me, So dont come on here and tell me how upset you think Gordon was.

You reap what you sow.

well a bit like your roof spoiler i spose, although i honestly would have thought you would have know the roof spoiler was way out before fitment.

Perhaps he used those long 6inch wood screws like you guys did ?

then when it was completed it really stood out, then decided it was best left there, as it was something people could pic on, as we know they would, but on top of that it also gave the roll cage a presance, like look at me! i am one solid little puppy!

So making an accurate roll cage was never the orginal idea then ?? If you we going to decide for yourself what looked good.... why ask someone to go and look at the orginal car , if only to waste their time???

I notice a change in writing style to Grant.... getting a bit personal now isnt it....

Still i love it when i ask you to clarify some points.... and you havent bothered to....

So Grant, you've lowered yourself to insults, well I suppose there isn't anywhere else for you to go except into that big f*ckin' whole you've dug yourself into!

LoL,my roof spoiler was my first attempt...what excuse do you have for your rear flares? how long have you been building these cars? and you still haven't got them right! are you watching the same film as everyone else?

Just bow out disgracefully while you still have some indignity left, there isn't an excuse under the sun that can get you out of this one.
