Yep, that would be correct. My understanding is that he simply built the car for the parent company, but didn't actually know which Planet Hollywood it would ultimately be installed at and didn't participate in that part directly - PH handled all that. Noting also that some PH were run directly from the main company and some were franchises (Sydney was a franchise), and noting again that a lot of PH "props" were in fact replicas. Usually all high quality, and many manufactured by the original studios by the same people, but replicas just the same.

Those photos of Jay's surfaced for the Kruse Autos auction, note that some of the pics on his site are his replica car, and some are the original. Pics 4 through 7 are the original, I assume all the others are the Kruse car, and I assume none are pics of the PH car. Looking at the PH car interior, there are definitely similarities to the Kruse car. See the Kruse car (pic 1) and the PH car (pics 2 and 3) - note the similarities in the size/shape of the warning light, and the tacho used where the Dobros gauge should be.

It's also interesting to note that the PH car is in fact an XA, although obviously items like the tail lights have been changed to match an XB. I'm wondering what base car the Kruse car was, does anyone know where that is now, or was that info published at the time?

Micheal Rennies old replica (which is probably the first replica built?) is still around and kicking.

Its now in Werribie, Victoria, at a paint shop... which i can only assume means its been sold.
The owner of paint shop claims he built this car some 20yrs ago.

haha no not mine, but im guessing the lens were painted in clear coloured paints, when you look at older pictures you can see how they have faded over the years.
No idea why the owner hasnt bought real lights for it.

Maybe because that are as rare as rocking horse shit. I've been trying to get replacements for my Bopper with zero luck.

The lights used on the yellow interceptor are still available brand new.

The hellas on the bopper however were discontinued around 1998 i think.
They do come up for sale on ebay occasionally.
I would look regularly on ebay UK, France and Germany as it was regular equipment used on their emergency vehicles.
There is also a guy in NZ who sometimes has a few for sale, I'll have to try and refind his website for you and PM the details.
