George Miller is a medical doctor and probably knows somewhat about chemistry. So, your assumption is probably not that far-fetched. He works many things out in great detail.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

^The rain really did a number on the set. Having to CGI puddles and mud off vehicles is something you wouldn't expect in a MM film.

Those jackets Jack & Furiosa are wearing are interesting. Especially jack's looks a lot of Max's Fury Road jacket.
