I hope this doesn't get pushed out any further, the wait is rough but I'll hang in there. I have made a display diorama that I interchange my 1:18s on. It will become home for my Road Warrior.

Cool dioramas!

Those rims look familiar...

Thanx! It's actually one diorama, about 3' wide. The foreground is a highway section with the two raised areas to better show cars in the rear. It can display 5-6 cars but looks rather crowded. I prefer to keep it with 3 or 4 to highlight the models better.
Yup, awesome set of rims! Now that I don't need to build a "Road Warrior" I think they'll end up on a Maxed out El Camino that has been in my head forever. Since I can't build the real one I might as well do it in 1:18!

What a great way to display the models. Thanks for the idea. I think when I get mine I will make up one. Of course I'll have to scrape some red dust off of Adrian's car.....

I was thinking about doing diorama type bases for my 1:18 models, should I ever complete them. Maybe a desert highway type thing. I don't have much room to display them without knocking out a wall, though... that's the only problem at that scale. If you look at some of the pictures I posted you'll notice a solid wall of 1:18 Harleys in the background... my whole "War Room" is pretty much like that... shelf space is a premium. I was considering stripping the drywall and making cubby-hole shelves plastered in between the studs with a hardwood shelf at the bottom of each. I can only do that on one wall, as the others are either concrete or blocked by my workbench.

Maybe I should just commandeer the wife's laundry room...

I bet she'd love that! I've got some things I would like to put up that I've made but have no wall space either, or the wife wouldn't care for "certain" items to be displayed where the company would see it.
