I'd like to replace Mel. I want to know what true Mad Max fans think though. Even if you don't like me as Max I think the role should go to an unknown.

True, I agree. Bana would be great. He was really good in "Munic". I would go for Clive Owen. I know he's British but I saw him in "The International" and his look and some of the character traits reminded me of a rugged, weary and mean post Thunderdome Max. That's when I decided solidly that Owen would be perfect. He was good in "Shoot Em Up" too. I know some of you won't like that but that's no problem. This is just my opinion is all.

That's you?? You look pretty cool in some scenes. Scruff you up and bruise your face up a bit more and I think you could pull it off. Good job with the cutting. I'd put you in one of my films if you were in my area. I'd give you a try. 8-)

I may be wrong here but I thought Miller was planning on doing an animated Mad max 4.
After the success of his happy feet production & Similar to what lucasfilms did with their recent installment of the clone wars.
If that is the case then they wont need actors as such, just voice actors.

You may get your wish and have Mel Gibson do the voice over of a younger and capable animated character.

I'll pass on an Anime flick. It's not the real thing. We want real landscapes with real people, real machines, real explosions and real stunts. Who knows how Fury Road would have been and how it would have turned out if that stupid war in Namibia didn't break out.

Replacing Mel.......

Just dosn't feel good any way you cut it.....

Mel is Max.....more so than Martin Riggs too ! THAT franchise became.... oh ! let me throw my shoulder out yet again....for 34 million !.

No, MAD MAX has plenty more milage.....and i hope they film it the way the others were filmed. None of any of of that "modern choppy-change-y strobe editing" and all that shit...trying to keep up with "modern" tastes....

Give me Max as I know him even with "slightly speeded up sections of film during chases"....call me weird...but,little touches like those ARE a MAD MAX movie. Its that kinda stuff that sets these movies aside from the USUAL SHITE we are all numb to these days.....I can't even remember the last movie i paid to see that was INSPIRING...or even worthwhile ! No wonder all the 80's things are returning....theres nothing out there allowed to improve on those. What can "i" say....people lack personality & imagination these days...everything instant & no one has any boredom-time to grow a character.....the bar was raised in the 80s....then there seemed to be a cull on people with cool ideas.

sorry,...but thats how sick i am of 150 MILLION DOLLAR MOVIES that "suck".

Terminator 4.....!!!!? With a "kiddie rating" !!!!!!!!!!? ...with actors that don't have a speck of dirt on them...after a nuclear holocaust....!!!! just all look like actors that stepped out of their trailer and walked on the lot !!!! omg ! isn't there anything left for adults to enjoy AS adults.....something really realistic !?

Please please please......no animation

I really haven't read up on all the rumors about MM4, but does anyone even know what the storyline is based on? When does it take place, 20+ years after MM1, or just sometime after MM3? Are any of the characters from the trilogy supposed to be in it, like the kids from MM3, perhaps (and I'm not talking cameos, but a continuing story)? Or is it supposed to be all new characters still in the wasteland or city?
Forgive my ignorance, but as I said, I haven't been remotely following the rumors because I generally don't believe a word the media tells me. When they are filming somewhere and pictures of the actors and vehicles start popping up, that's when I revved up about it. Unfortunately, there's just too much speculation and hearsay to hold my attention at these early stages, especially since this has been in talk since what, 2004 or earlier (remember Heath Ledger as the feral kid?)?

And as far as I'm concerned, Mel Gibson will always be the Road Warrior.. I don't see how any actor could convincingly be Max again at a 'young' age, which is why I would expect a new set of characters, or a hunter child as an adult (and hopefully nothing as confusing as the whole Max & Jedediah controversy!!) :?

Another note; though I would MUCH rather see a live-action movie (make no mistake about that), an anime (if done right) could still be pretty cool.. Akira, anyone? Granted, that was during the dawn of anime, but talk about a cult following! There were times when the brutality and realism of that film was hard to watch. The beginning bike chase through the city of Neo-Tokyo was always my favorite part of the movie, naturally. :)

.. Just my 2¢
