Worst Sci - Fi Film

Even LL Cool J, who was in the Remake said the movie sucked. But Detritus, you did a EXCELLENT job in describing the many ways that movie sucked. I watched it with someone and we were looking back and forth at each other wondering "What just happened". It was almost like they just finished editing a "Rough Cut" version of the movie because one scene didn't have no where NEAR a relavance to the scene that followed...not even that...SAME scenes didn't match up. Its like someone re-did the movie up their in the booth.

Why, thank you.Image

If I'm good for nothing (my wife would say to stop talking right there...) else, I can certainly complain about the product of someones labor.

Just kidding about that. I just get disappointed when they put all that money and effort into a movie and use 'the latest editing style' and fill it full of 'accessible character lifestyle icons and imagery (usually this goes hand in hand with product placement). It cheapens the movie and, when you see it for what it is, it creates a void where that character is suppose to be. Look at RW, great story, good characters that develope from the plot, and no product placement. Well, maybe there was an increase in the sales of 'Dinky Di' dog food. I guess what I am getting at (ranting) is sacrificing the story, and the movie as a whole, to the packaging and marketing aspects. Broadened demographics and as many media/product tie-ins as possible. Heck, you can't even have a normal soundtrack anymore. It has to have a 'pop music soundtrack' or a 'music inspired by' cd tie-in. There was some movie I saw (can't remember it off hand) that had a pop group do a song for it. It was the most heavily promoted song on the soundtrack. You know, ' the new hit song by so and so from such and such soundtrack' kind of thing. Only thing was, it wasn't in the movie. It was the LAST song played during the credits. Didn't even fit the movie.

Oh, boy. I'm starting to get wound up. I think I have to go find some Lithium or lick batteries or something.......Image

maybe we should move over to that old thread from a month ago started by DRIVETHISCRATE, cause thats exactly what we were on about in that, and thats where we fear FURY ROAD might end up.
