Original Interceptor in Miami

So, to finish with this fu***** VIN, it's a 73 model, and it's JG66ND43660K ; after verif on Ankle pic below, it's correct ! so the One is really a 73 model, not a 74, because manufactured in november 73 ! Mine and the real one are the first XB models built !

In MM1 the rear tires were l50-15 on 10" wide rims and the fronts were F60-15 on 7" wide rims. I spent MANY years locating the exact same tires as used back in 1977 for my replica. Not only was this confirmed by Murray Smith when I had a 3 1/2 hour pancake dinner with him in 2007 (as Sam and Emil hand fed me so we could get out of the place) but the pics Dale B posted were even more solid proof when I compared it to my coupe. If the rims sizes were any different, my tires would either bulge in or out more, but they are dead on.

My thoughts on the wheels.

Both front and back are 15" (you will note a double lip)

As for the 'multi-fit', check the photo of the wrecked BoB on fire after the roll over, you will see a multi-fit there.

Sorry I haven't jumped in sooner, having some 'severe' laptop issues here (anyone sending me email, please be patient, still rebuilding it!)

Anyway, to answer the VIN question (which has more or less been answered anyway), the 'ND' part of the VIN is the year / month. 'N' is 1973, 'D' is November. It was one of the first XBs produced, which is why it contains some of the high performance parts it does (left over from the last of the XA GTs). No idea why Deezer has is listed as 1974 - but that's just their sticker. Maybe some info on the Web somewhere says XBs were made from 1974 to 1976 (I've certainly seen that written before). As for the damage - wow. That front fender dent looks like it might be new, I don't really see it on the pic I posted of the car in July?

Might just be the lighting though, hard to tell for sure. Maybe someone wanted to put Mel's dent back on that car (i forget exactly where that was off the top of my head). But it sure looked like a large dent in your other pic Ankle! Certainly the car has seen better days. Not totally impressed with the ongoing modifications being made to it either - parts going missing, new replica parts and props showing up in it, getting hard to tell which parts of the car are the real deal any more. Such a pity for it to have been treated so badly. I just hope if they decide to repair it, they get someone with a little respect to do it, and make it right - rather than just making it even more of a confused mess.

Hello All . I'm in the UK. Some time ago in fact the week end of March 24th 2001, I convinced my wife that we take a trip up to the cars of the stars museum for a weekend trip to Keswick for our 10th wedding anniversary. I'd just discovered the interceptor was on show there . I couldn't believe that it was in the UK ! So we had to go. I contacted the Museum before we went to see if I could get a closer look and Peter Nelson Came back with a " sure just make yourself known when you get there " . So I did on arrival and to cut a long story short was invited to sit behind wheel. That blew me away , to be sat in same seat as Max had some time ago . Photos were strictly not allowed ,but in my 2 minutes inside the interceptor convinced me that I was in the real thing. I also didn't realise how substantial the rollcage was. Can't recall too many details at the moment ,but I did write an account which I must try and find, at the time. I'm no car expert but like I say, I was convinced. One thing that does stick in my mind is the Machete movie prop ,was still in its holder inside the drivers door. Never Knew that existed and I've seen the film countless times. I see in Anklecranker's Pics,its missing now . Inside the back was a movie poster on card of the film ,nothing special.

So , at the time my son was only 3 and was in a push chair . Now he's 15 now and well into comic hero's and sci-fi etc . So I said " lets go to the cars of the stars museum " .
" Cool " He said.
but its gone . So I guess its save up time for a holiday in the US . Its great to see that you can walk around the car as you couldn't in the UK . And a final note ,I don't recall seeing any damage
