Eh, screw them. They'd rather have a pristine car covered in bubble wrap instead of something fun and original. None of them told me they didn't like it. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but compliments.

Holy crap! You're done and taking it to car shows already???? I haven't been around in a while. Great to see you made such progress. Those guys bitchin' about the NOS bottle not being hooked up don't realize that they weren't hooked up on the movie vehicle either! You did a great job!

Thanks guys. :D

It's licensed right now... but almost certainly illegal to drive on the road. I still have to hook up some brake lights, side view mirrors, and a seat belt. Even then, cops may not look too kindly upon my Machine. I'm only going to drive it in a car cruise or two, and I'm hoping to just get away with that.

So there is a car cruise in about three weeks, and I started up The Machine to see how she was doing. Slow to start (as to be expected) but once she started up she ran without stalling. I checked the battery before I started her, as she ran, and with the spotlight plugged in. It always came back up to about 12.30 volts. Then I tried disconnecting the negative terminal, and she died right away. Same with the positive terminal. So is that proof that the alternator is not charging or what? (FYI, the alternator is turning and everything.) I'm going to do some work on The Machine soon, and have an electrician friend take a look, but I'm worried because of all the half-assed and hacked up wiring. I do not want her to die on me as I'm out there cruising. The Humungus would be gravely disappointed at that. Any help?

The simple thing too do would be a delcotron alternator with built in voltage regulator you could by one from
checker or at a salvage yard
after that you could pull all the extra or hacked up wires off the machine

since your electrician freind is coming over anyway maybe you & him could go over the entire wiring harness & fix it, then cut out all that junk wiring you don't need.
