The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel, it'll take you ten minutes to hack through it with this, now if your lucky ? you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go !

Excellent remake on the interceptor there Mr. Speed.

After reading every last page you guys may have some of the most mest up laws for cars on the planet......

Here in the states you can do abut anything to them.
Now don't get me wrong some cars are just not streetable but that becomes the owners choice due to the way they did their build.

We have a guy that has a 440 hemi in a 76 aspen and the exhaust comes straight out through the front fenders over the front tires. Nothing but straight pipes.
Then there is a personal friend of mine with a 71 ford mavrick grabber that has dual turbos full roll cage, trans brake, small fuel cell, full frame, one seat, 9 inch shaved rear with 15 inch rims and hoosier slick, really to much to list that is also street legal.

I got him a new vin tag and title for it about 6 years ago off a front clip, that was sitting behind a guys house rotting. His Ex wife wouldn't give him the title.

The key here in PA is to put a antique plate on them. then it's a matter of money and time.
Wa. state where I am from only has a HP law of 500 after that it's a trailer car for street transport to the track.

As far as your headers I had a built and stacked 302 that did the same thing.
WHen I would race it and catch gears between 1st and 2nd it would blow the gasket. ( was a 5 speed standard)

I ended up using the hex button bolts and the brown cork gaskets with the aluminum backing, an red lock tight.
that settled the headers from coming loose every week to about every 6 months. I knew when they came loose it would blow the cork off the gasket out and sound off.

Again very nice car wish I had one. but they almost never show up for sale in the states then when they do they are to much money wise.

You had a long road ahead of you with that restoration glad it was finished and glad to read the thread on it.

Yep it's been said before that Australian laws for modified cars are very strict, it boils down to safety at the end of the day, but hey on the plus side it's awesome to not only have the car but to drive the car at the movie locations and also meet awesome people actors stuntmen from the film

My headers didn't really give me any dramas this time but i think im going to give your remedy a go im also thinking about drilling a small hole through the hex heads and then feeding tie wire through them to stop the turning, before i commenced on my journey home with the car i also noticed the power steering bolts were loose, so i've got some small mods to do to the car before its next adventure.

Thanks for your interest Rich

Cheers Simon

Very cool. Makes you think just how good a Mad Max film with lots BoBs would look (even though I know it was a one-off in the story).

I've never seen so many together, the freedom riders put on a great show with donations to MS, and they are already planning the next event.
