There's also a couple of shots in the game trailer where Max has a different look sporting the bandaged left hand and long sleeve torn white shirt without the jacket that we've seen some BTS set shots of Hardy having a similar look. ;)
I don't think that's what happens in the movie, but in the animated comic it shows that Chumbucket watches Max get his ass handed to him and saves him cause he sees Max as some sort of savior and believes in some weird.. literally car cult. So yeah I think there's no connection to the movie, Chumbucket gives him new clothes too probably, they build a new car, go out looking for his car etc etc etc.
As for the Tom Hardy'ish look - I can totally see how they took that from the movie just as they based a whole bunch of things on it.
Yeah I don't think it literally plays out like that in the movie but Miller/Barlog most likely took some elements from that scene to put in the game since the Interceptor being stolen is a key point in the movie.

They probably took off his boots and jacket etc while searching for anything useful on him but just ditch it so when he comes to his gear is probably still there laying next to him.

Is Max's Interceptor taken away from him in Fury Road though? AFAIK Max just bumps into some tribe and decides to help them out. There is a silver interceptor in there for sure (surprise surprise, its got the same double blower setup as in the game).

Preview of West Coast Custom's Magnum Opus build episode.

It isn't clear to me whether this episode has already aired or not.

Yep. It aired on Sunday night via FOX 2 but I think only DirecTV subscribers actually get that channel.

From what I saw from their previews and such it seems like WB commissioned WCC to build the Opus for last year's Wasteland Weekend.

Worst of all, there's no indication it'll re-air.
Trying to find it online is a ghost hunt. Not sure if worth it at all since they used a 70's Maverick to fake the XB GT, I was at least hoping for some game footage. Ah well, what can ya do.

So I was bored last night and decided to watch the trailers for the game again to see if I could see anything I had missed or clues to FURY ROAD given what we know from the screening and I noticed that Max's costume actually changes during the first "Soul of a Man" trailer. When you first see Max he's wearing the FR inspired outfit but then a little into the trailer it changes to this..

So I thought that "cool, you can also salvage and customize Max's look and outfit" but then another shot in the trailer shows it's actually the Mad Max 2 costume right down to the firefighting tools and jacket:

It's probably due to the fact it was the basic look the team was using for development but then I remembered Playstation owners get "The Road Warrior Pack" for PS3 and PS4 so you likely get a costume change with that. Still, even with the original/FR outfit it looks like there's webbing on there that when you gain items or weapons it'll show up on Max:

Although the Magnum Opus trailer kind of hints they may of changed the outfit to be closer to FURY ROAD..?

Anyways E3 is in a few weeks and WB Interactive will probably, hopefully, show off a new build of the game then.

I hope it has the same incentive content for the 360.

Has anyone preordered it yet?

Well at the time it was a Playstation exclusive but they usually make that DLC and other stuff available for all consoles after a time...for a price of course.

Haven't preordered it yet. There doesn't seem to be a need to just yet given the game is likely 12 months away but I'm hoping for a Collector's Edition.

Just a bit of a heads up but E3 kicks off next Monday! Last year they officially announced Mad Max with a CG trailer at the Sony conference and were showing off the game behind closed doors.

WB haven't officially revealed which of their titles will be at E3 save for Mortal Kombat X and the new Batman Arkham game but Christofer Sundberg, founder of Avalanche Studios and creative director for Mad Max revealed he'll be in L.A and out right around E3 so a new showing for Mad Max seems a given....unless they're debuting a new Just Cause game. :x
