I spoke to the guy in the photo shop as well, he seemed interested in a then and now postcard set. i'm catching up with him in March with some photers and stills from the film.

Hey Dirk. 'Straya misses ya mate!
I reckon you'll come back like a boomerang!
:D

Feb 10 2009 ...

Dirk and I started early morning at Claremont Street South Yarra, went past nearby High Street Prahran (bet not many of you know the relevance of 75 High Street Prahran?), then to Clunes, and on the way back home stopped off at Exford Road (http://tinyurl.com/bksj2z) as in Dirk's photo in his above post.

Dirk took lots more and better quality photo's on his trip down under, and I'm sure when he gets over jetlag and adjusts back to the cold German winter, he'll post some great photo's and even some 360° panorama's (or links to them).

Anyway, here are some of my pics (including some Clunes "then and now" comparisons) for those above locations on that Tuesday February 10th 2009 ...

The Cabaret carpark:

75 High Street Prahran (not too far from the "Cabaret carpark") ...
This was where the Mad Max rushes were screened (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dailies).
To attend (some) and view brand new unedited footage was a real thrill.
Don't know if it's the same building, but I'm guessing it is:

On the road to Clunes ... (watch out for those Roo's Dirk!):

Good old Clunes.
Hasn't changed much; still a lovely country town ...

Now (sorry, couldn't manage a crane shot ;) ):

Now (can you believe that shelving is still in the window after more than 31 years!?):

Cheers all,
