Your age?
i'm 26 in october of this year. born in 77'. work in a SCI FI & FANTASY COMIC/MODEL SHOP.
My dad hired out MAD MAX 2 in about 83, i was 6 or 7. wasn't really meant to but watched it with him, on a warm sunday afternoon, aside from WEZ scaring the sh*t out of me, i absolutely loved it, dad noticed me that afternoon, talking about it insesinently, and re enacting the end scene with HOT WHEELS and MATCHBOX cars.
so the next day he hired out the original one for me, he'd seen it a couple of years before at the Drive in. I guess he'd forgotten it wasn't as 'comic book' as part 2. It was far more serious, and totally un suitable for a child, I went crazy over the cars in it, but all those scary men on motorbikes, really made me scared of anyone on a motorbike for the next 4 years. i'm serious man, the motorbike didn't even have to be a big KWAKKA or HARLEY, the little brats running round the street on their Peewee's even scared me.
I think maybe that same year they played PARTS 1 and 2 on tv. So naturally dad taped them. so religeously every weekend and school holiday, i watched them back to back, in particular part 2 sometimes 3 times a day, WEZ no longer scared me, cause they played the LOST VERSION on tv, so he wasn't tearing arrows out of his arm, and headbutting people. Plus MAX 1 was cut to sh*t, real bad, but i still haden't lost my fear of Bikers.
Then 86 came, Dad managed to find some Ex Rentals of MAX 1 and 2, For sale, so he picked them up, I'd gotten so use to my tv versions, that i'd forgotten, how carnage filled they were, it was so excellent i was a little older, and it was like watching DIRECTORS CUTS. all this new footage in them, that the others didn't have.
Oh yes, ofcourse the year before, we'd been following the progress of THUNDERDOME, closely, and were going crazy for it, plus my whole street were too, cause by this time, half the street had borrowed and dubbed our copies of 1 and 2.
Then the time finally came, it was out on new release overnight hire. And dad came home from work, with the groceries, and he slowly pulled it out of one of the bags, and was like "surprise", man i think even mum and my sister were excited, since my dads and mine was so infectious. I don't remember much about that first viewing, except i was really confused, it wasn't anything like the other two. Dad hated it, and cause i idolized him, (He drove a MACK like MAX's and he owned 3 FALCONS, a standard XB SEDAN, a GTHO, and an XA GT, half the street owned them too) so his oppinion influenced me immensely.
In 87 it came to tv. We taped it, and we gave it another chance, dad liked it a bit more, but those damn kids annoyed the crap out of him, i really liked it now, and it joined the other two in weekend marathons. But over time, as i got older it got worse i started becoming more of a movie buff, thus learning about Hollywoods ways, and their manipulating selling ploys, and the movie turned into a way to sell tickets to a younger audience and f**k up my movies.
And here i am, about 6 posts away from my 1OOO' ed. thanks to MAX. I have a hell of a lot of other little stories regarding MAD MAX, but they've all been told before in the other threads, plus this one is long enough.

The first that I saw was MM2 in 1982. This film let me forget Star Wars who was so childish!
At 14 I brought out my matchbox cars to imitate the chase of the truck. My father found my fascination ridiculous. The first MM was forbidden in France and I salivated with the idea to see it one day.
1985 I saw BTD, and still dreamed of seeing the first one, the original, with this agressive motorcycle gang!
When I finally saw this so much awaited film, I was 18 and it exceeded all my hopes! It is my favourite!

I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

I'm Tiziano Caliendo, living in Naples, south-Italy. I was born in 10/24/1977... so I'm 25 years old. I drive a white OPEL CORSA SWING plus (year: 1993). I usually go as fast as I can.
I was just 6 years old when I FIRST sew two white/black images taken out of the first "Mad Max" movie on my TV NEWSPAPER (The black on black; Max with the shotgun, watching towards the right side). Being too little, I never was able to "taste" the movie that bloody night, but the pics remained struck in my mind somehow and I always didn't know WHY.
I watched Thunderdome in 1987, on TV. Hooked forever... F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I didn't connect it to the first two even. Didn't know it was a trilogy belonging the same storyline, or the same character. The titles for the first 2 movies were really different in Italy, so figure it out.
Watched both MM1 and RW in 1990, founding them pretty fantastic. I taped both in 1992 on a single old VHS tape (the channel went off "bad-received", so the resolution was white/black with a lot of interferencies) and started to love them a lot of times. I made the connections between 1, 2 and 3. Somehow, I didn't became such a passionate fan... I just liked the whole thing, founding it "genius stuff"... "that's all". I was an EVIL DEAD fan long time before ARMY was really out of the theatres. ASH was my hero, and that could have been one of the reasons...
I re-watched Thunderdome somewhere between 1993 and 1995.
In 1998 I rent the VHS copies of ALL 3... I don't remember why... and the rest... is HISTORY. I discovered myself being more than a casual "guy-who-likes-the-movies-anytime-he-watches-them".
I also discovered that the net hated Thunderdome. I planned the site with a vengeance. I was shocked.
The rest is history, again.
Sincerly,
Uncle Entity.

I think I was 12 when I saw Road Warrior. My dad took me to see it. Both of us always loved finding monster movies, action, and other cool stuff. The 80's was the best.
For several years I worked as a full time auto mechanic. Quit about a year ago and decided to take care of things at home and enjoy myself for once. My favorite car is my 69 Camaro.

Hi!
Ageing in at 28 (feel older though...) saw Mad Max and MM2 for the first time on the telly when I was about eight (!) been interested ever since.
Rediscovered MM, MMTRW and MMBT again with my discovery of the world of DVD (they where cheap in a sale but that's an aside) and rediscovered how brilliant the series was and have been rehooked ever since collecting memorabillia and stuff.
Don't drive at the moment but once had a UK Vauxhall Viva two door saloon (1973) in MFP yellow, boy could it go.....
And I like Thunderdome...... (Ducks beneath desk!)
