Think I habe figured out why the dead scavenger by the Gyorcopter had shotgun shells. He had scavendged them and was hoping to one day find a functional shotgun and use them. He obviously didn't shoot the snake, It would have been torn to peices.

You are correct.
I'd like to see swords in MM4. Very plausibleand effective as a close combat weapon in the absence of firearms.

Although the Colt Python is a very well made handgun it is not the one that Humungus had. Lord Humungus has a 44magnum Smith and Wesson Model 29 with an 8 1/4" barrel. The scope is just and add on. This is the same gun that Dirty Harry had.

When the People left the towns and moved into the wastes, they would probably take whatever weaponry they could get their hands on. For most people, I guess this would be a home defence weapon i.e a shotgun or revolver. Also, a double barrelled shotgun is very simple with few moving parts so I guess it would be able to withstand the damage and wear it recieves as a Post Apocalyptic weapon of death. Also, isnt the shotgun Max has is Thunderdome different from the one that appeared in the first two movies. The shotgun in teh first two movies had the stock totally sawn off, with a metal butt. The Shotgun in 3 seems to have a small piece of the stock remaining.
Anyway, that's just speculation, repition of what other people have already mentioned, but I wanted to give my opinion, hope you guys dont mind.

yeah the one in THUNDERDOME is different from the one in 1 and 2, i always just thought, his old one finally just gave up the ghost, i mean the last we saw of it n PART 2 was in WEZ's dead hand, probably got damaged in that accident. And during his wanders came across someone who had another, and being similiar to his beloved MFP gun, he woulda jumped at the chance to trade for a new one.

The theories are predicated on a misnomer. In Oz it is not permitted to own a weapon for self defence.
Now even if that is the real reason you procure one, it is still not a legal one.
Most people I knew who legally owned mini-14's, SKS's etc owned them for pig hunting. I have never met anyone who owned or purchased a weapon for 'self defence' etc.
Well thats not quite true, when i was in Alice I met yanks who were amazed we couldnt wear a pistol on our hips. I remember one guy who on his application to teh Alice Sprngs Pistol Club listed the ability to field strip an M2 HB!
But i digress.
Post apocalyptic weaponry is most likely to be an SMLE mk III or double barrel shotgun.

Come on, bein' a good-ol American boy myself, I'll stand up for the venerable Colt .45 every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I wouldn't trust a Glock as far as I could crap it. I'm sure it can fire with a chevy truck lodged in the slide, but that doesn't necessarily make it a workhorse like the .45. If everybody carried Glocks in that wasteland, they'd probably melt from the sun!
Now as a scavenger, I can tell you, I keep EVERY unused shell I find, including duds. I don't own a 12 gauge, but I've got an ammo can full of shells waiting for the day. Like somebody said up there, you don't really need anything pricise to reload a 12 gauge shell. The primers can be shot at least a few times and you can stick just about anything small and partially round in the shell for shot with paper or cardboard for a spacer. Don't know just how many people could make gunpowder, but I can imagine knowledge like that would travel fast in an environment rich with demand like the wasteland.
I think that by the time Thunderdome rolls around, there would be places where someone could take their used casings and trade them in with other goods to get reloaded shells. There wouldn't be factories churning out primers, but there are millions floating around already. Here in the states anyway. I don't expect there to be a bunch of reloading supplies over there. Aussies are getting shafted again and again when it comes to guns. It's about time you turned on your parliment captors and gain a smidgeon of power to actually disagree with their tyrannical laws. The same thing happened in Brittain not too long ago, now you're five times as likely to get mugged or robbed than in the crime-ridden city of New York. I heard a week ago that Brittish police are no longer being given jurisdiction to investigate cases where there wasn't "reasonable evidece to find the suspect left at the scene of the crime." Now all a bloke has to do is wear gloves when he breaks into your home or store and makes off with your life and livelihood. He certainly knows he isn't going to be shot! Any self-respecting man or woman in Brittain can't own a gun to use agains the rapidly swelling tides of scum and criminals that are marching all over the world. If he or she does, they're thrown in the same category as the very filth who caused the fear in the first place. What kind of a world is that? The parliment expects you to use karate or ju-jitsu or something against the guy trying to rape your wife or kill your kids. Now we might be heading for the same fate here in the states because Rosie O'donnel and all her pseudo-righteous ultra-conservative blowhards get sad when they see the kids on the news blowing each other away. I can't believe they are so short-sighted. Sure, guns make it easy to kill someone, but it's the ignorance behind the gun that does the pulling, not the gun. They think that ripping the guns from the hands of hard-working homeowners and family heads will somehow magically stop all crime and stupidity. The dumb bastards will never understand that the only way to stop crime is to stop the criminals! They are everywhere and spreading.
I guess I got a bit off-topic, sorry.
I am going to catch so much flack from that paragraph.
Aussies, plese don't rise against your government, that would be a little fool hardy. You should really buck up, though, your rights as human beings are almost gone. Sure Rosie is an idiot, but at least she's got the balls to speak up about something. There should a whole lot more of that on the other side, though. I can't believe that a few years from now, we're not going to legally be able to own a gun, but the criminals will still have theirs ready to go and we'll all end up living in a lawless country led by scum. That may be slightly pessimistic, but it's all too possible and some would say that it's already a reality. Taking guns is not the answer, not yet anyway. There is another, better place to start, but nobody wants to reach into the pits of human immorality and pull the bad infectors from their thrones. The philosophers would say that in doing what it takes to solve the problem, too much "inhumanity" would be revaled about our "civilized" culture to let it survive as it was. Civilization IS only skin deep.
Let the flack fall where it may.

PUNISHER - believe me, if the GLOCK would melt in the sun, it would've melted years ago, from all the hot lead i've pumped through its barrel.
