Thanks for the quick replies. You guys are great. I will check out the indiana car. I can do motor work (been there done that) and most body work. I have a buddy of mine that is actually better at body work than I am, and he is very interested in helping me. I have a question for everyone. I have been reading all the posts on this forum (3 days for the most part of steady reading) and I wonder of all the people restoring these cars and making pusuit specials, why isnt anyone stripping the cars down and acid dipping to remove all the rust? I would think that could be the best way to make sure that the rust is gone completely. Just curious.

A little about me since I am new here. I am 29, computer professional for a nice worldwide corporation, worked on cars pretty much all my life. I have had a 1972 442 convertible, 70 chevell, 71 gto. I have been dreaming of building the pursuit special for many years but untill recently, I havent been able to figure out what kind of car it was. Once I got into computers, got a job in them, and searched the internet, I ran across madmaxcars.com. Now the quest has begun. End of story.

Thanks for the help guys.

I am located in Erie Pa. I hear that there is a Falcon/Pursuit Special in or near Buffalo NY. If anyone know this person, or has a way of contacting this person, please let me know. I would like a chance of seeing this car. I will drive to see it.

I am going to start a few threads about different questions I have about the cars in general.

Thanks

Charles Flender has the Last V-8 as seen in the video trailers on this site. It has the original type front nose and has been built to MM1 specs . I have met and know Terry James from madmaxcars.com. I find him to be trustworthy and upfront. I'd do business with him. I haven't met Phil yet but only hear great things about him in the past five years I've been here.

So you have a 442 ? I have a W-30 car and am active in the Olds Club (OCA). See ya at Ford's 100th?

Hey 5.7 Interceptor,

You are probably the one I am talking about. I saw a map of all the falcons in the us and canada, including interceptors, and there was one up by the falls. I thought that it was probably NY but the dot covered the whole area.

So what are you building? Is it an interceptor? How far along are you? I am interested in seeing it in person. I would like to check out a falcon to see one and check them out. Especially before I buy one. If this is possible, please let me know.

Thanks

heya Craig, I'm at a bit of a stand still right now as I'm 'gathering parts', but here's a link to what it looked like last October. I've since removed all the brakes to restore them so it's up

on axle stands:

My site which shows it from the beginning is www.madmaxcar.com and you can contact me directly from the e-mail link on that site.

Hey Doug, you get that plate from Brett? DAM fine plate, huh?

Anyway, I was thinking of all the Interceptors over here in the US, and the various permutations you could have. MM1, MM2, in between 1 and 2, very beginning of 2, etc. Then I took it to the next level. If there were yellow sedans as patrol cars and some Interceptors, and Max got a black coupe, who's to say there weren't more made? I'm thinking in terms of most police departments/hwy patrol, who have Crown Vic's and Impalas as basic units, but buy Mustangs, etc. for high speed pursuit.

So maybe an alternative black Interceptor could be made, not Max based. I know it offends the purists, but there is room for more than just an exact movie replica.

Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Heya Mitch, no plate yet but I'm sure it'll be here soon enough. As for your idea on building a 'special' version of Max's car I think it's cool!

There are so many of these cars popping up all over it would be refreshing to see something unique. If I were to build another car I would like to do a sedan with the MFP colors but add the monza nose and the blower with Scott injection, dual spoilers etc but no zoomies. After all

these are supposed to be police cars and you have to have that 'back seat' to throw the bad guys into.

Love it! And at some point, we need to get all the US/CA replicas together in a sort of MFP department picnic.

What's the latest count of Interceptors in North America, seventeen or so? How many black and how many yellow? Gotta compile a list...
