Re: Interceptor Restomod
Alternator will be moved slightly to the right with the bracket supplied by Rousch to accommodate the blower snout and pulley.

Rear brakes with the one off custom Currie axles. GRC and Currie axles got the measurements so good that only 1 shim was needed to center the calipers over the rotors!

Re: Interceptor Restomod
The trans before fitting. 5 speed AOD. Stock T-handle shifter will be retained in the car. When manually placed into 1st, transmission will auto shift to second according to engine RPM. Second can be held until manually shifted to the "second position" which then becomes 3rd in the transmission. Shifting into "3rd" on the console is the transmissions 4th gear. Overdrive will be engaged and disengaged by the 'blower switch' like the BOB, mounted on the T-Handle shifter.

Re: Interceptor Restomod
What's left to do?
Re: Interceptor Restomod
Whats left is making the new transmission cross member mount, then the driveshaft has to me made by Drivelines Unlimited, Intake and intercooler manifolds went on today, supercharger has to be installed. We are keeping the stock exhaust manifolds as headers will not clear the steering shaft but the stock GT exhaust manifolds will be more than sufficient so they have to be painted or coated. The stainless steel exhaust has to be fabricated with the X pipe and Magnaflow mufflers installed. The radiator is also a custom aluminum item that is made in house by GRC performance with electric fans and aluminum shrouds. The Intercooler and radiator tanks have to be fitted also. The battery will be located in the trunk (or boot) as they say in OZ so an alloy box has to be fabricate for that.
I think that about cover it, maybe some other minor bits and pieces.
We are also fairly sure we can get the car on the TV show Jay leno's Garage as he is only an hour or so drive south of shop and has segments on his show that features local builders. Gives the car and GRC great exposure and leno himself always takes the cars he features for a drive. We are going to try like hell to get leno to get Mel Gibson to come down and drive it as I think he owns a home in southern California, but that may be easier said than done but who knows. Be great though wouldn't it! I would have leno or Gibson wear my Abbyshot MFP jacket too if they would do it!

Re: Interceptor Restomod
Wow, ok so this really is a no-holds-barred build - looks awesome, and if you can get it on Leno's Garage then that would be the icing on the top of the cake!

Re: Interceptor Restomod
Originally the plan was just to stroke the 351 to 408 cubic inches, change the intake and maybe the carbie. Just before that build started GRC came across a wrecked 2007 Mustang Gt. at an auction The rear end was totaled but the front was undamaged and they purchased the Mustang for the sole purpose of obtaining the engine and transmission. They contacted me with the idea of a 'resto-mod' build so we scrapped the original plan and it snowballed into this.
They were very exited about doing an Aussie Falcon and even more so as it was a Mad Max replica. Obviously a very different 'animal' than they are accustomed to seeing in their shop. So here we are, (a boat load of money later, OUCH!) but she is almost complete. I know I will never get the full investment back one day when I eventually put her up for sale but then again that's not why we do these things. I am not sure why we do these things, but we do them. Passion for the cars and the movies mixed in with a little bit of crazy I guess. Bit of obsession in there as well.
