It's alright, it's just that these days when some people don't like something they go all into full denial mode and act as if the creators aren't responsible for their creations be it good or bad. This has been especially evident with Fury Road comics where a whole bunch of people who didn't like them straight up refused to acknowledge Miller's involvement, which is insane given that he had those stories in his head for more than a decade. Either way, back on topic...

Does a strict adherence to continuity between the comics, the original trilogy, Fury Road, future movies, video games, etc., etc. really matter?

I don't think it really matters, but there are many small touches in the comics that don't line up with the film ... if I had to guess, the way they read is that Miller scribbled a basic synopsys for them in 2003 and things (thankfully) evolved a bit since then.

Anyway, I'd be happy with a bunch of Max-derived stand alone and out of continuity films, as long as the story and character quality is ok :)

not particularly, if max is to believed to be a story of a legendary character told by others in the story.

Are you suggesting that using significant portions of our lives to pain ourselves over the chronological integrity of a movie franchise created to entertain for profit might not be worthwhile?

That shot is remarkably close to the comic-book drawing of the same subject. Down to Max's haircut.

The entire story in that comic is awesome and it would've been great if we had it made BEFORE Fury Road. The moment when Max finally gets in the Interceptor and starts driving and running over Buzzards is just epic!

But making that AFTER Fury Road doesn't make much sense at all. Might as well just film the interceptor driving across the desert for two hours then as there would be zero suspense, zero character development. Sure, I'd see it, but that doesn't necessarily make it a good movie. :D
