Best,

For causing such a stir I think Florence should be forced to watch Happy Feet 2 every day until MM4 finally gets released!

Re: Fury Road Release Date?
Really still not sure on the release though and could still be pushed to 2015. Florence's reply could be taken as"Sorry, I shouldn't of mentioned 2015 as there is no set date so it could be either 2014 or 2015", likewise I go t a similar reply from Village Roadshow Films via Twitter:
For my sanity I'm saying, and hoping, for a 2014 release. Also crossing my fingers that if it is a 2014 release then MAYBE WB might announce a panel for Comic Con next month....@DGSimo Hi David - We don't have any info on this at the moment but we will let you know when we do! Have an awesome weekend
Re: Fury Road Release Date?
We must hope for the best (2014 seems to be the more plausible). And, you're right, SDCC could provide some news on this. After all, Comic Con is the E3 of Hollywood blockbustersDGSimo wrote: For my sanity I'm saying, and hoping, for a 2014 release. Re: Fury Road Release Date?
Am I alone in thinking the delay makes no sense? CGI heavy movies like Man Of Steel (which probably has 3 shots not in CGI. Or maybe none) are understandly delayed because the post production takes a long time (like Avatar was), but the film is said to be shot with 100% live action. Except maybe erasing cable, there should be no CGI work in it.
I'm worried it's either because of a face off between Miller and the studio about the rating of the film (R vs PG-13), or either because it's Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome all over again when the studio was expecting Road Warrior 2. Even assuming they needed a few extra shots, or changed a couple of scenes and reshot them, the delay makes no sense.
The wrap date was mid-december. The movie should be completed by now, ready for release. Why sit on it for a whole year?

First off....
Second, while the stunts and vehicular carnage were filmed for real, I think CGI still plays a significant role, though not necessarily an obvious one.
Third, the film still has to be converted to 3D, a process which, if done right, could take 6 months or more.
My guess is post production shouldn't take more than 1 year, but a release may be delayed a bit as they wait for the right time.
http://picha.com.au/mad-max-fury-road-w ... el-gibson/I’ve since heard a rough cut of the film has been assembled although further shooting is scheduled for Australia later this year

According to a Warner Bros release document we just got, Mad Max: Fury Road won't be in cinemas until 2015 (!)

Re: The game...
http://www.videogamer.com/xboxone/mad_m ... -3486.htmlAs you'd expect that's not an area Avalanche is focusing on at the moment. Currently, it's all gameplay-heavy highlights, and it is showing signs of improvement. Knowing that it has a gargantuan amount of time before it's released - end of 2014 is the current date - and that it's moving in the right direction, Mad Max certainly has something to it.

I guess Warner Bros and the rest of Hollywood are going to stick with the superhero tent-poles thru 2014, getting every shekel they possibly can.biolumen wrote:Digital Spy Movies

Well we saw this months ago so I guess it's no surprised to see it in their documents.
I'd imagine WB would be aiming for a Q1 release considering 2015 will be a killer summer as it is with Star Wars Episode VII, The Avengers 2, Batman/Superman etc.

Re: Fury Road Release Date?
2015 is looking more likely. Village Roadshow's wikipedia page now lists the movie for 2015. The date was changed from 2014 last month. As for the user who changed it, his entire editing history over the last 2 1/2 years is centered only on either the Village Roadshow page or the page of it's CEO Bruce Berman, leading me to believe that he may be in the employ of the company.

Also, the published report on the Village Roadshow Ltd 2013 Results Commentary conference call of August 22 reveals that Mad Max: Fury Road was not one of the movies brought up when the discussion turned to their "powerful line up for 2014". See page 23 of the pdf linked below.

Re: Fury Road Release Date?
I wonder what the record is for the longest time to release a movie? I remember Robocop 3 had a long time on the shelf but that was because Orion went into bankruptcy.biolumen wrote:2015 is looking more likely.
Is it common to shoot a film for 5 months then wait a year for reshoots then wait another year for release?
Were looking at over 2 years for MM4 and it could stretch to 3 if it's released in late 2015!
