Whoever said it goes back to the Road Warrior design? This isn't a prequel or part of the original trilogy in any way.
No! I refuse to accept that Fury Road is not apart of the original trilogy. If this truly were a reboot, then why didn't Miller go back to the days when Max was an MFP officer ? It's obvious the film starts in the wasteland with Max as an already established character, so the film has to be connected to the original trilogy in some way. And given the rough nature in which the BOB for this film is put together, such as the front end and the one gas tank, whose to say that Max didn't find another Falcon and then modified it to look like his original Interceptor. It may be far fetched, but I again refuse to accept that this is film is not connected to the previous films.

How do we know they didn't film scenes of pre-apocalypse Max? They don't even have to really. It could just be explained in an intro or throughout the movie. In a recent interview Tom Hardy specifically said you can fit Mad Max 1 and 2 into the first 15 minutes of Fury Road. If he was talking about the story or stunts and action scenes is open to interpretation.

I'm sure Miller and Co. are stringing us along somehow, probably so us older Mad Max fans will create buzz for the younger folks. Think about it, why did we get so many pictures of the vehicles? The pics release didn't seem to bother them that much buuuutttt, when a pic of the screenplay was released they put a cease-desist to that right away didn't they?

We've seen the characters, we've seen the vehicles, we've seen the desert locale, and a very nebulous description of the plot. Even with all this we have no idea what's going to happen in this movie!

Perhaps it's not relevant to the modern fan whether or not we see max as a cop! Who's to say he isn't the "survilalist" type so loved by the Amreicans (see Book of Eli, The Road etc). I personally think the, albeit damaged morals of an ex cop, adds depth and dilema to a potential story involving Max. But as it's a reboot....who know's! Just know I'm going to love it either way!

Obviously all the vehicle pics are taken by those who happen upon the location or on route to it. I am not aware of any "Offical" pics being released. Even the photo of Tom Hardy as Max was a bootleg and only "confirmed" as Hardy as Max from WB not released.

As an older Mad Max fan, having seen all in the cinemas on the original release except the first one ( but saw that one on VHS the day it was released), I really don't think any of us fans will calculate into the Warner Brothers marketing plan and I fail to see how many "younger folk" we could market to anyway even if we tried. That's not to say I am notr trying daily though! :D Just saying!

A lot of those pics were from people happening on to the shooting locale but the pic of the screenplay was from someone happening on to the "scene" as well. Obviously they're fine with the release of a few vehicle and prop pics as it really doesn't give away the film, which the screenplay certainly does. Just think if that guy would have taken pics of the entire screenplay, not just one page, and posted them!

These studios/directors love rehashing the big successes of the 80's. Anything that gives them a built in audience/name recognition is a huge plus for them. It's too bad this is coming out ten years later than expected. So yeah, they may have already passed their big window of opportunity. They won't finish until they siphon off everything they've ever made from Wizard of Oz to Star Wars to Indiana Jones. Maybe they'll leave Blade Runner alone lol.

Isnt Star Wars getting an every character in the movie spin off film?

Anyway, the guy who said about the Hardy interview, do you have a link to the interview?
