Evidently rumors had it that "Fury Road" could have shot for an entire year, but its allegedly having to trim both its budget and shooting schedule. Hardy sort of confirmed these rumors and then went off on a joking tangent.

Just how did Hardy "sort of confirm" the scaling back of the production? I've read nothing to indicate other than a pushing back of the schedule. Edit: With regard to a shortened shoot, there may be some truth to Hardy's joking around. I wonder how many stunts they cut from the film?
It was going to be a year of filming, then six months, and now we’re supposed to be doing it in six days.

Theron said July, so I think that's where it stands. I've read some tweets from a few stuntmen who are involved. Many are already over there and one said he'd be there for 6 weeks or so, presumably for training and pre-production, then get a little time off before having to head back for the duration. Make of it what you will.

Well, fingers crossed it's a non-story. Unless they've held back some of his comments, Hardy doesn't actually say anything about the filming being put back, only that he doesn't know "when it'll come out" - which I'm sure is true.

Hope we see it soon anyway. Max and his world is a cracking idea for a movie and always was; and George Miller is one of the best action directors around. I really look forward to seeing another one from him.

Watched his "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" remake on Blu-ray the other day - what an absolute blast. Spielberg at his best couldn't have done a better job on that.

Two years after being indefinitely postponed, Mad Max 4: Fury Road finally begins filming next Saturday, June 2!

One of the film's stars, Charlize Theron, revealed the start date during a recent interview with MTV promoting her new release Snow White and the Huntsman.

The long-delayed sequel/reboot, which stars Tom Hardy as the title character, will see Theron play Furiosa, a character with half of her arm missing. Theron coyly acknowledged this attribute during her MTV chat.
