...and the good news is that a huge company like Mattel has decided that an Aussie Falcon XB is Hot Wheels material. Affordable, readily accessible to everyone with some loose change in their pocket and their already established relationship with Warner Bros. (Batman) means that a BOB Pursuit Special is a disticnt possibility. As far as I'm concerned this is a win/win situation for Mad Max fans like myself and Mattel, it's a no-brainer.

I really don't care how it will come out, I think we are even lucky that Hotwheels decided to produce a Ford Falcon.

Mattell has released a poster of it's 2010 lineup. Here's the artwork for the XB:

poster looks nice. thanks for the posting. course the true model could be nothing like that but i just picked up the hotwheels 2010 ecto 1 i have to say -looks at it from all angels as he types- from the grille details to the boot details on the back even the rack of "machinery" up top (while lacking paint.) are very spot on. thus why i have a bit more faith that it will look nice.

i've been on the hunt since it's announcement but so far i've only come accross the ecto 1 from my list. if i find one before anyone else i'll post pics of the actual car.

Please do post when you get more info on these. I'd love to get one myself, I don't know if they'll show up in Australia at all. Are there any online retailers for this kind of thing? I know we generally can't order from the toys section at Amazon here, not sure what the other options are.

Would love to pick up Ecto 1 for the kids as well - one is a Ghostbusters nut!

And the best thing is that it will confuse the hell out of the yanks. cletus will wander into walmart in bumfuck Tennessee and go - 'WTF ? a 73 falcon ?'

That's just an image I grabbed online. They're just staring to hit the stores in the USA. A good friend is a huge collector/dealer and buys direct so I'm sure I'll end up with a few but for those that don't get the chance to hunt down these things, I wouldn't worry as they'll only be popular with us fans so there should be plenty to go around
