Yeah, that looks pretty close.I wouldn't give 600 dollars for it though. As to why he might not have used it, I guess it wasn't in the script. Honestly, I would have rather used the revolver over the shotgun due to the shotgun's fierce recoil. The shotgun is very powerful within its short range but you pay a price for that power.

In Many respects, Gunbroker auctions are just like eBay.. Sometimes the BIN price and/or reserve is set too high.

I did a Google search on costume weaponry and found some S+W's and others that might work for the Max 1 garb. Rubber cast guns run around the $50.oo mark, while replicas are going as high as $200.oo or so. I also found a rubber casted 9mm Broomhandle replica that Max wears in BTD for $35.oo...might consider that one.


KAROL: Where can I find a plain belt buckle like the BTD ASTORE POLICE buckle? Any replicas known? I can inscribe/ingrave the letters if necessary...just curious.

Bronze21: No, there are no replicas of that particular belt buckle. I don't even know anyone who has put together a BTD costume, besides myself. I used an old, worn, brass Pacific Islands Regiment (Australian Navy) buckle. I found it on eBay. Try "regiment buckle" or "officer buckle" in your search.

I think the Mad Max (1) handgun is the Smith & Wesson M19 6" barrel revolver in .357 magnum.

The grips have the S&W medallion, ramp style front sight, pretty strait forward if you've been
looking at S&W revolvers for the last few months.

The outward appearance is the same as the Model 53... but it's not .22 caliber.

I did a little more digging into the issue of Max's gun, and I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever know which model it was. I believe the folks on the madmaxreplica Yahoo! forum decided it was a model 53 a few years ago. Then Rook3 says on his website that it's not a 58 (typo?) but a model 19. Then on IMFDB, they say it's a model 28. So I don't see how we can to know which model of blued S&W 6" barrel revolvers Max had for sure. There were so many models manufactured, and we don't even know what caliber his gun was.

The only thing wrong with it is that the cylindrical piece that runs along the bottom of the barrel goes all the way down (I'm guessing that's what makes it a "Python"). But otherwise, it seems like the best choice for your MFP costume. One of the cool things about this airsoft gun is that real rounds will fit into the chambers. I have a guy I've ordered inert rounds from before, and we are going to throw some real 357's or 38 Specials in there just because we can!
