I believe there was a green jacked-up AMC Hornet wagon in Mad Max. I only saw it from the rear. It's in the scene where the toddler is getting out of his stroller while his parents are discussing "Jonathan"Quote: Originally posted by March Hare on 18 July 2005

Ok, because I know AMC/Rambler made several models available to the Australian and New Zealand markets. We already touched on the Hornet and I do know that the Matador was sold in New Zealand. I've said it many times since I first saw MM1 that if someone wants to see lots of American cars/trucks with right-hand drive they should go to Australia or New Zealand. I would include the UK since there are many American cars there but, to my knowledge, they don't really make it mandatory for American imports to undego LHD-to-RHD conversion but like the wind that could change.Quote: Originally posted by Big Bopper Bart on 22 July 2005

Canadian Charger police cars...OPP yelling: "Hey-O. You in the Sa-leeka (Celica). Pull it on over now, eh?!
I was at Chrysler last week putting some car chairs in a Liberty buck and saw one of their police package cars running around the building on a test cruise...toey, very toey. It was all black, including wheels, without any labels or badging. Looked as fast as the police radio...

It would not surprise me if the MSRP for the Charger Police Package was somewhere in the neighborhood of $45,000. They would be suitable replacements for the aging Crown Vic and Impala fleets.Quote: Originally posted by Bronze21-MFP460 on 22 July 2005

And they already had a smaller fuel efficient car in the Gremlin. Back in the 70's, truck drivers would consider the Pacer and unfortunately the Gremlin "4-wheeled roadkill".Quote: Originally posted by Foxtrot X-Ray on 18 July 2005

Hahahaa look at the funny little european looking car!!!!!
Built By American Motors Corporation, and available with their 304 CID V-8.
I've actually seen a few with a 360 or 401 swapped in.
One has a pretty pair of Indy Cylinder Heads' Aluminum Heads as well as a plethora of other goodies.
(He carries a sheaf of timslips in his glovebox.. Consistant Low 12's.)![]()
This said, I'll state that I thoroughly Dislike the pacer for one reason & one reason Only..
Back in 1974, AMC had originally planned to give the Javelin & AMX a year off and come back for '75 with a redesigned Javelin. (I've seen pics of the Clay Body Prototype)
Instead of producing the New Javelin, AMC decided to go with a Smaller, more fuel efficient car - The Pacer.
Ugh.
