I'm with you on the Mk1 Coupe - rocks - I'm all over eBay right now. Where'd you find about that?

4 door cars never do it for me - 3 doors is one too many. Gotta be a coupe.

Look-a-here:

That might be a good one. Watch out for the rust, the MOT can be a 'make or break' deal if the has too much rust or if it's in the wrong spots.

If you want to know more about the Granada, like what to look for when buying, pitfalls, parts costs, etc., checkout http://www.ford.granadaguild.btinternet.co.uk and some of the other Granada/Consul clubs. There was also a Consul GT.

The coupe, with an airdam, black paint, dual exhaust, and the right wheels could be a very striking car.

Go to this page and check out the first car for sale:

Greetings. Definitely the Mk 1 Granada...that's a sweet ride. Any pics of the front? I think that's a close second as far as a UK-BoB, don't you?

Anyone looking to do a 4 door replica should see what my mate Andy's done with his Mk 3 Cortina

Stunning i'm sure you'll agree, and is about as close as you'll get without the real thing.

2050 - thanks for link to Little Bopper - cool that other people are making a effort over here not just Adrian. That Droopsnoot looks great too.

Also, thanks for lighting up that "UK Replicas" topic from years ago - touches on pretty much where I was coming from, even down to Opel Manta coupes.

I've been thinking about it, UK cars just seem too small or too English for the whole vibe. The Granada Coupe front kind of lets it down (check the eBay item above for shots) and the cabin is too long, the lines are too straight.

I think we've gotta go Falcon or big US coupe of the era.

I'm gonna try make Cars of the Stars tomorrow - its a couple of hours from me - maybe that'll provide the inspiration.

Wood.

Yeh, Little Bopper is cool, not been down to see her for real yet though.

After working on my car for so long the first thing that surprised me was how small the Cortina actually was compared to the Falcon, thats how the name Little Bopper came about!

Enjoy your trip to the museum! I hope it provides the inspirsation you need =)

They don't clamp cars with Northern ireland plates though! Image
