Where have you seen Max references?
Fallout 1 and 2: single sleeved black leather jacket, tons of other stuff
Fallout Tactics: one mission talks about a retrieved Interceptor vehicle that exploded from a booby trap
South Park: the episode where the kids learn about STDs. It has one scene exactly like in Road Warrior where Humungous is giving his speech to everybody at the compound.
Carmageddon 3 TDR2000: V8 Interceptor, MFP Pursuit car, Thunderdome type cars, a map with a Thunderdome and a couple barter town look-alikes
Late Night with Conan O'Brien: A recent episode of Conan had a song about going to college and meeting lots of new people. 2 of the characters in the song were Master-Blaster.
Farscape: I don't remember the episode number, but there was a part where they were driving Mad Max-esque dune buggies around a desert planet for some reason.

Reboot had a Road Warrior derived episode. Tanker full of RAM or something like that. Very classic. "Just walk away... RUN!"
Shell had "The Road Worrier" seies of commercials in the mid '80's.

Ha! Yes I remember those. There was one where the "Road Worrier" came to his girlfriend's parent's house to pick up the GF, and I think he was driving some kind of truck or post-apocalyptic Winnebago thing.
GF Dad: "Hi Road! How are you?"
RW: "Worried..."

"You disobey me. You puppy."

Nice signature Drewski (Driving Chicago etc...)
How about driving/living in Detroit. You know, the "Combat Zone" that everyone talks about. (All chipper...) "So! Where do you live?" "Detroit." (A lot more somber) "Oh, I'm sorry." The 'burbs aren't too bad though, ask Interdictor. Funny bad rep Detroit has...
The Sisters of Mercy: A Slight Case of Overbombing: Vision Thing. Tells about a "thunderdome" and apoco-type settings.

A couple of months ago, there was a 3 Muskateers(?) commercial on that had a tanker full of chocolate trying to get to the candy factory (fuel depot compound) with thugs chasing it. It was all animated or CGI. Anybody see it?

I just found a new reference to Mad Max. The game "Racer" has a few Road Warrior cars for download like the red Snake truck and a couple v8 Interceptors. One Interceptor is a spot on match of the Road Warrior version.

Just watched a program called Headliners and Legends on MSNBC featuring Mel Gibson. They referenced Mad Max at least 20 times during the hour-long program. I didn't know his knickname was Mad Mel when he was in school. He got in a fight the night before his audition with Kennedy/Miller and looked pretty bad the next day. That's what they wanted. Newspaper headline read: "Mad Max turns into Prince Posessed" for his role in Hamlet, which also harkened the dark, brooding, mildly insane character feature of Max. His roles in the Max universe set the stage for the Lethal Weapons as well as Braveheart in the way of his "Mad" acting style. The film footage for the Max movies included the crash of Night Riders Holden and Max running up to look, Max shooting the driver of the XA and stills of him standing haggard after the Mack wreck, as well as stills from Beyond Thunderdome when they were discussing Mels drinking problem. Tina Turner sent Mel a glossy of the two with a caption penned "Don't f%#k this up." He quite drinking after that. Thanks Aunty Entity. It was worth watching.

That's a really good episode of Headliners on MSNBC. I saw it a couple years ago when it first aired. The beginning half hour is all about Mad Max, and they reference it many times throughout the show.
