The war parties stayed behind because they would all become mired in the mud if they tried to follow. The Bullet Farmer had his tracked Charger, so they were probably assuming he would return.

I think there was a LOT of film left in the cutting room. I'd love to see a 3 hour directors cut of this.

Yes you did! I think I remember the "bug out" shot now that you mention it. as for the bog being unable to pass in their vehicles, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I never really got the grasp of its size and was wondering why they didn't go around it.

Reading through this made me know what to expect. I can't wait for the movie to come out.

One question for all of you, Does Hardy's Max reminds you of Mel's Max in some ways ?

Hardy's Max is a different animal - there's overarching similarities, of course, but Hardy seems to have approached Max as someone more withdrawn and insular. That is, someone who hasn't talked to anyone else in years, and has to deal with a constant mental barrage of hallucinations and survival on a daily basis. I liked it.

Also, I'm sure I'll come back to this later on, but I loved that - despite the fact that Miller's aesthetic has obviously evolved in the thirty-plus years since Beyond Thunderdome - his essential visual syntax and rhythms during the chase scenes has remained the same. It all felt so familiar, in the best possible way.

Nice, i like that. Sounds like he's more damaged than Gibson's Max.

I have heard some complaints that Max's back story has been changed, is this true?

Lets not forget how human behaviour works with these things;

1) If we connect with something emotionally we forgive a multitude of sins and give the benefit of the doubt.
2) If we don't connect then we try to rationalise our feelings by objectively picking at the details.

Personally, I'm glad Miller isn't doing fanboy pandering crap that Marvel and now Star Wars are doing. You pay tribute to your fans by looking forward and creating something new, and hopefully great. Maybe you don't succeed, but it's better that cute, winky-wink games that rely on past glories.

From what I've heard, the whole PTSD side of Max sounds really cool
