Concept Artwork from Peter Pound

Razor Cola looks cool. I wonder if he's in the film?

Maybe not identical, but much the same.Mad Max RW wrote:I really doubt it's the same movie after 13 years.
http://www.madmaxmovies.com/forum/viewt ... 003#p92513With so many failed starts on a new “Mad Max” installment and filming set to start in early 2012, one would imagine that the narrative has changed dramatically. But Miller said that while it’s grown somewhat, it’s essentially much the same film he wanted to shoot in 2003. “Obviously I’ve worked on [the script] since, and we’ve got the whole movie designed – we’ve got 150 big vehicles built – and the world has evolved. I hope I’ve evolved, and I hope the movie’s evolved. But it’s pretty similar; at its core, it’s not that different.”

Finally, someone else sees reason......BRC1974 wrote:Judging by the vehicles and character designs there's no way it is set between mad max 1 and 2 like some have often suggested. It does seem pretty far in the future.

It does have a certain 70's comic book look, but in a cool way, like the old 'Cartoons' comic. Maybe a little Moebius thrown in.rustycarr wrote:The drawings remind me of the 1977 animated movie "Wizards"

On a full photo of the Gighorse, Immortal Joe is stood next to it. Has this vehicle been confirmed as his?

Although one of the storyboards and stunt sheets biolumen found last year showed one of the Wives driving it for a sequence.

Indeed. It's not a sequel to Thunderdome, neither an "interquel" inbetween MM1 and MM2. It's an alternative continuity, and it's a far future.DetritusMaximus wrote:Finally, someone else sees reason......BRC1974 wrote:Judging by the vehicles and character designs there's no way it is set between mad max 1 and 2 like some have often suggested. Eh, you lost me at the third thru fifth words. I do not believe it will be an 'alternate' anything, just one more tale in chronological order.Uncle Entity wrote:Indeed. He's really pushing an "alernate timeline" thing because it looks like he refuses to believe this is part of the Max mythos, but has nothing credible to back it up other than he just doesnt want it to be. Fact of the matter is: it IS part of the Mad Max mythos and NOT an alternate reality. The only problem is to figure out WHEN it occurs.DetritusMaximus wrote:Eh, you lost me at the third thru fifth words. If anything, the Rashomon theory that was posted here a while back explains how each Max story can be about the same man, but with different settings and extremes; due to the story being told from different people and how they interpreted the man and the world around him.
