Thanks DGSimo, you're definitely a major player on this board. Plus you joined the same month as I did!DGSimo wrote:Whoa, how did I come to be mentioned in fine company?kickherintheguts wrote:roadwarriormfp wrote:What is going on here? This is madmaxmovies.com where anything and everything ever related to the mad max movies has been discussed in the most minutia of detail. I did see MM3: MMBT back in 1985 but I probably tuned out the 2nd half of the movie. Therefore, I gotta ask Peter or Biolumen or Uncle Entity or Bubba Fat or DGSimo or Nightwalker or MWFV8(probably my favorite username) or Chase Bansi or HUMVEE Driver or Foxtrot X-Ray or, appropriately SCREWLOOSE:
Was Gecko's death in the original theater release OR not?![]()
In regards to the discussion...I don't remember it but then my first viewing of BTD was when I was a wee little lad in the 80s and I didn't really rematch and soak in all the details until I was much older so I'm afraid I'm of little help.

Re: Gecko's death
I can confirm the scene wasn't in the Italian theatrical release... sadly.DGSimo wrote:Whoa, how did I come to be mentioned in fine company?kickherintheguts wrote:roadwarriormfp wrote:What is going on here? Re: Gecko's death
Other than in the Tina Turner "WDNAH" I have never seen the Gecko death scene or Max's dream sequence in the UK TV screenings of MM BTD and its not on the UK DVD releases either.
Cant comment on the theatrical release of the movie I was only 6 years old when it was released....first seen the Movie on BBC circa 1991/1992.

Re: Gecko's death
Being 13 when Beyond Thunderdome came out and already fascinated with the Road Warrior, I had the movie Picture Magazine, and the paperback movie adaptation. I always found it frustrating that they never explained what happened to Gecko in the movie, yet there was pics in my magazine. I'll have to see if I can find them and see if the book explains what happened. I too remember the extended camel hijack scene since I think I went and saw it in the theater like 5 times back then
