Possible pictures of actual Fury Road vehicles
Re: Possible pictures of actual Fury Road vehicles
Very true on not the best of ideas in the way of trying to cool things down. Especially anything that may have been cast iron in particular. Not sure if the block and heads were alloy or not but again as it's a movie we have to let a few things slide i guess.
Wasn't sure how well them bandages work and was very suspect that it'd do the job sufficiently to be able to handle. Perhaps it's double wrapped or something which may allow for it to be touched? When i seen the bandage i straight away thought at least they have tried to make that plausible rather than having her grab onto the pipe itself.

One thing that has been a recurring thought for me thru all the movies is the idea that in Max's world car fetishism is prevalent. Meaning that not all the parts work, they are just 'adornment'. The lar's velocity stacks were just bolted to the hood of the 59. The black Landau in RW had the fake Weber DCOE/turbo setup and sidepipes coming out of the fender in a place that made no sense given the very real structure of the car. The Landau makes more sense with this idea when it rolls and you can see the actual exhaust under the car.
The dash of the Gigahorse is decorated just like Toadie in RW with car badges.
It's all dress up to make you look more fierce or more of a challenge. Like puffing up your feathers to look too big to eat.

One thing that sucks is thanks to these photos we get to see the insane amount of detail that went into the cars - because everything moves so fast on screen you miss out on a lot of it.

I saw that mini before in an other picture. And I think I even saw it for a flash of a second in the movie.
But I wonder if this is also a car they bought already with the V8 in it. I remember, several years back, someone in Australia had put his homebuild Mini V8 on eBay. This one was also put high on his wheels. The chassis was modified in the middle of the car to accommodate the gearbox.
because the development of FR started so long ago, I wonder if this car was bought by the production crew and this is that same Mini transformed into something post-apocalyptic.

"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Hmm! Than it is not the same Mini that was on eBay with the V8. This one has a Holden 6 cylinder.

Re: Possible pictures of actual Fury Road vehicles
A few years back, there was a TV commercial promoting the Commonwealth bank. The advert featured cars influenced by the Mad Max Movies. One in particular was a black XB coupe fitted with two rear tanks. Shortly after filming the ad, the XB coupe was retained at a local storage facility, whilst the remaining vehicles were destroyed. It was George Miller's intent to use the XB coupe for Fury Road. Additional coupes were needed at the time but the Commonwealth ad coupe remained as the FR hero car.
