It's street legal-ish. I've never had any trouble with the police, but then I only drive it on car cruises and to a nearby repair place a couple of times. It has brake lights, a headlight, a horn (sort of), bumpers of the correct height, side view mirrors, and a roll bar. It doesn't have a windshield, turn signals, or running lights. But I always wear a helmet and goggles, and I can use hand signals like a motorcycle. I think the bottom line is that I'm sure a cop could give me trouble if he wanted to.

Did Kjell ever mention that his character was supposed to be a burn victim? I'm just curious because there's been a lot of speculation and Miller's blunt explainations of Humungus first being Goose but they abandoned the concept.
If you have any info of that sort would you mind sharing it? I think it'd really shed some light on who Humungus' character was supposed to be from Kjells account of Miller's directing.

I don't think Miller ever did.
It was more exposition rather than explanation.
Still, we would all love to know.
