BAD COP - you blasphemous bastard - there is NOWAY CHAINSAW 2 and EVIL DEAD 2 are better than the originals - granted they are pretty fuckin' awesome, but cooomeon 8-)
I do like THE FINAL CONFLICT and EXORCIST 3 better than OMEN and EXORCIST. plus ALIENS comes close to being better than the original - soft spot for ALIEN 3 though.

Hey PF. this may sound like an exageration - but i have seen MAD MAX 2 around 7 or 800 times, i did have an exact number once, but haven't checked in a while, cause i have kept a diary since i was like 9 i'm 32 now and i write everything in that thing including every movie i watch and when.
Ya gotta understand as a kid i'd watch that thing every saturday morning then sunday morning before everyone got up - then when i was allowed to stay home alone i'd just loop the bugger, have it running all day long, rewind it watch it again, then as i got older and had a tv in my bedroom that thing would be on before college and on again when i got home 8-)
plus when i got the INTERCEPTOR models in the mail back in 2000 i didn't have the internet so had to rely on the pause button on my video player to get the accurate specs - i ruined my childhood ex-rental doing that, so pick up as many copys as i can whenever i see them now.
I've slowed down over the years but still squeeze it in once a month, and introduced my two boys to it, they like it but you know this damn SPIDERMAN generation, they just got not class :?
The only other movies that come close to as many viewings are the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, PREDATOR, and JIM VAN BEBBER's DEADBEAT AT DAWN. 8-)

Between 700 and 800 times... It is crazy! But it seems to me impossible that you have the same pleasure when you watch it again. About the Tobe Hooper's masterpiece, I would also like to know how many times you have seen it. I imagine a very high score. It is true that the sequel is not a bad movie, but it is a movie of the 80's; like "First blood II", "Back to the future" and "Mad Max beyond Thunderdome" (even I like very much the third adventure of the road warrior).

yeah sorry BADCOP ;)

i never tire of MAD MAX 2, infact sometimes its better than the first time i ever saw it, especially when i spot new shit - believe it or not it was only about 5 years ago that i realised that in the scene of the vermin having their little parade to taunt the compound people up on the hill that when they have the people up on the poles setting fire to them etc i noticed one of them being nailed to it, like i always saw a marauder doing something with his hands punching or something but when i looked close it was his hands banging something into the guys leg - then later on in the montage of bikes tearing up the mud, Humungus ranting and tortures etc. you can see it again - one of those Towtruck Skinheads are hammering nails into somebody - gotta watch widescreen though.

when i think about it objectively, mm2 isn't really that great of a movie - when you look at it's parts (ie poor sound, bad acting, narrow storyline), but as a whole, it just gets me on some primeval level. which is why it's one of my all time favourite movies. go figure.:geek:

if mad max 2 is the great film ever made, then that means the first mad max film is the greatest movie of all time. you can't beat a low budget, lengthy editing in someone's kitchen with a finished production that produce's a world wide intake at the box office. though the pull of interest overseas for the first film was mainly due to the release of the second film.
