We arnt racing at the drags its just a display at interval time up and down the drag strip, more a madmax chase, just for the fun of it.

Keep in touch as it gets closer, will be a great event and dont forget all proceeds are for charity.

The event is for free and free camping too, so all you need is fuel and food, its not how big it is its just fans getting together.

We are also doing a display in the main street on the sat morning before the show which i am getting a permit for, as i wish to close a road off
between the medium strip, which atuobarn is one side and the model shop the other, they are sponsoring the display even though we will only
be there just under an hour.
Also... The model shop has offered their front window for a display of memrobelia for a week or two before hand.

well this event is still going ahead, so far a few cars are turning up.

Brad (gasoline), Troy (maxvan) which is now running a V8 and will have new paintjob also, Daz and his big bopper from sydney, and maybe Pat (cob115) from adelaide. and my car will be on the road by then. And maybe Maddan from Qld will be turning up also, but its a fair way for him to come.

Dale Bench & Kim Noyce are coming also.

Troy is making some signs for the auction and display on the day, and im putting together a statue post apopolyptic style complete with shoulder pads,
which i got from Karol when i was at the road warrior event.

while at the road warrior event i got a copy of the loaded warrior which we will be playing on the sat night, its a great dvd and goes for 15 mins and is a remake
of the road warrior but based on bikes & beer, very funny and well done. It had been the guys life dream to make this and when i asked about it on the sat night
he couldnt get over someone from australia asking about it and he gave me a few copys.

Also we are hoping a few bikes will be also coming from the z1000 club too. And Aussie Muscle may be bringing his model collection for display.

There will also be pics from the california event and a video, and Kaz and i will be wearing our costumes we wore there too.

The main day is the saturday but fri all are welcome to arrive as weil be showing madmax1 the fri night at the racecourse. And dont forget this is a charity event...

Boys,
Gearing up for the bairnsdale motor expo.
Im having the whole exhaust dumped and a new twin set made with hotdogs and a set of berkley deep throat mufflers.
Once the coupe is ready to go, I will be driving it there full noise.
Hopefully I make it there with no "canary" stuck to the windscreen.

I wont have the siren hooked up by then unfortunately.
Im still undecided if I will go down to melbourne the night before and depart from there, or
take the trip up and over the mountain to Bairnsdale.

It will all depend on the temperature forecast for that weekend. As we all know, Fords don't like heat.

Everybody else on track for that weekend?

Yep.
Plan is to head down on the Friday to be time for the movie (I think it's a 10 hr drive) then head back on the Sunday sometime around mid-day.

Are there any posters for the event? I can try to get it advertised with the clubs if there are.

great guys, im busting my arse to get things happening my end.

i blew the auto thurs night but got a new one in friday night and went to the dragway for a promo for the event satdy night, i got to drive on the track at
interval time and got interviewed on the mic, regarding the expo and madmax do, this is the first time we have been advertised down here as i wanted it low key, The expo is motoring ahead with some 100 entrants already entered,
we are just a small part of this event but there has been alot of interest in the madmax thing. There is TV and radio adds for the event including the drags
which will go to air the week before. also there has been write ups in the local papers.

i have also been busy building props and here is Karol, funnily named after madmax costumes lol...


i will get intouch with all involved in the next week, as this week i am busy getting the car registered.

here is a sneak peak of the buggy im building for the expo, only went in the shed last sunday and have been flatout working on it.


things i have done this week is, set the engine up, mount the diff bullbar floor and seats. got it running last night but wont be drivable as wont have
enough time to do the tail shaft. yet to make the harpoon for the roof and i have a heaps a bits to hang off of it. the statue in previous pics
will be standing gaurd of his vehicle at the expo.

Just a brief update: I (and my Big Bopper) may not make the expo due to very unexpected medical issues.
Should I be able to make it, I'll post on here closer to the actual event.

thats ok Daz, family comes 1st and all the best to ya family...

my car was in the local paper this week with a writeup on the expo, and the car going in the local RSL to advertise the event in a few days next week.

there will be a carnival there with dodgem car rides, loads a displays including the police cfa and local businesess, a fly over by the roulettes too.

market stalls and bar open on site. The drags sat night with madmax chase up and down the drag strip at interval time, and the swap meet on the sunday.

also on sunday iv organized a photo shoot for the biscuit tins which you can see for sale at kmart etc. they take pics of cars and pic the best ones they like
and put the pic on a embossed tin filled with shortbreads etc etc

Kim Noyce is back in town and will be at the event, he accompianed me to the expo meeting last night.
