Those kick ass! I really love the road sign. Is there any way I could get a life-size image of that one? I have a real road sign and I'd love to stick it on there and do some drilling for the bullet holes. Now that would look good hanging in the garage...
As far as dropping the word "event" - I tend to agree, but I also agree that it probably isn't that important. No point in making changes on the web pages etc.. However, there's no reason that any fan made t-shirts or flyers couldn't simply say "Road Warrior Weekend 2009".
I'd say it would be wise to wait a bit longer before finalizing any designs or making any signs/t-shirts. Things could change... not the date, but, for example, if we're 100% on the location it might be cool to list it on a t-shirt. Or maybe we'll come up with a promo design or photo that we really want to use and a version of that could become an event logo etc. etc..
Either way, I'm very impressed with the creativity and professional work I've seen so far. And not just these designs. I'm thinking about Karol's amazing costumes we'll be seeing, Humvee's Humungus machine rolling into camp, and on and on.
I don't think it's just hype to say that there's never been anything like this before.
So I think what we'll end up doing is shooting a couple of models in Mad Max type gear and using that for one side. I think the bullet-ridden sign would make a nice backside and we could put a little info on there about the event.
Morrisminor, it would be great to have your logo to use on the website. Once we take the photos, I can send them to you and maybe you can put together a print-ready version? Thanks for your help - I love what you're doing.
Just for grins and giggles, if anyone out there wants to design logos for "Wasteland Radio" and "The Atomic Cafe" I will throw them up on the RoadwarUSA page and use them for the event.
And I love the use of the Dinky-Di can. But I wonder if that's too much of an inside joke for us hardcore fans? Not to mention might make people think twice about eating there if this gets used as an actual sign for an actual cafe/booth serving food and drinks at the weekend event. : )
