Not so much, they must have screwed up the paintjobs, and after dr. Miller and mr. Kennedy got done scolding their crew they just went with it... Interceptors are supposed to be a step up from pursuit vehicles I reckon. But then again, Pursuit Special, Last of the V8 Interceptors... It's a white line nightmare, it doesn't make any sense.

UH???
Remember this IS the movies and it was MEANT to look like a V8, so what it actually had under the hood is irrelevant.
Word is that it was made to smoke anyways, for effect.
Dont think the paint jobs were a screw up either
Remember that both the yellow Interceptors have bonnet bulges, the L88 corvette one, suggesting something a bit more special under the bonnet, not your run of the mill Pursuit car

Thanks guys for the comments on my site.
Appreciated

Gotta hand it to ya treasure, last of the v8 INTERCEPTOR'S.Thats the legend of Max's car.Get it !!.No Pursuit Special's.That's some dream time of another Sepo.If you study the history of Victorian Police car's,an Interceptor is a take down car.Bigger engine, more power and more refinement and mainly criused the open raods and highway's.Pursuit model's were more of the suburb variety, usually running 302's and some taller gear set's.Obviously thing's can get a bit hazy in the make believe world of the movies but Byron Kennedy new his shit.He was car savvy and was around rescue and emergency vehicles etc.

The BOB was officially a Pursuit Special, as noted by the radio dispatcher as he pulled up at the ambush site in MM1, it was never addressed as an "Interceptor" until the mechanic in MM2. Even the Nightrider's car was a Pursuit Special and as stated, one of their "V8s".

What is this "sepo" you speak of?

Interestingly, the same car is reffered to as Black on Black, pursuit special and pursuit car in parts of MM1 and MM2 scripts. I cant find any reference in a script to the car as an interceptor but we all know hoe scripts can change.

In the MM2 script the has this line

MECHANIC
Would've been a shame to blow it up.
The last of the pursuit specials.
It's history, that's what it is. A
piece of history...

First up Desloc, i'm not here to fight or have a crack at you ok.I have followed the max world for years and i know where the dispatcher theory came from.An American bought it to light on another site.Follow the natural progession of the BOB and how the writer's intended the car to be remembered.Don't you think they layed more emphasis on Last of the V8 interceptor's than a twice used voice over from the previous film.

'Sepo', I believe, is a somewhat less than friendly Aussie term pertaining to an American. It's short for 'septic'. As in tank.
