Thanks everybody so far for your warm welcome and thanks for the pointers.

I'll try and steer clear of Bongo van drivers even if they have their indicators on and I'll try not to aerate any caravans convieniently parked / stalled across the road.
I am after some advice on the what to do with some things on the car, for instance the seats have a cloth trim ( fairmont ) and I thought about removing them and puttting in vinyl same as the movie. Another thought was to put in a gt / sports dash, I want to try and make it the same as the movie even though in the movie you cannot really tell what type of dash was in the vehicle. I would also like to find out where i could purchase the siren, the type that was used in the movie, can I buy a an light sequence insert for the radio (pictured) i believe there was two types of radios standard and deluxe models the deluxe having the flashing lights. Would any of this take away from the fact that it is the " Toukley Neighbourhood Centre Big Bopper ".

"PPPPiece from ere and a PPPPiece from there"

Cheers,

Brownie

The Bopper Car used in the movie was former Vic Police car with a 302. It would (and maybe Scott could correct me if im wrong) not have been fitted with a GS dash. Police cars from that era had a specially marked speedo with small incriments in order to judge pursuit speeds more carefully.

The RVS in your car was made by me. (Iam located in far north QLD)

If you want a lighting kit please email on slippery_sam at internode.on.net
(Too many spam bots to put up a proper link).

There is a company that can make you the siren with the same two tone sound, but i'll have to go searching again for it. Mind you it isnt cheap. And just remember you can't have it installed in your car while your on the road. You need to have the control unit removed (Not just disconnected) in order to remain legal. Though as always it depends on the bronze who pulls you over and his and your attitude towards each other... lol

G'day mate! Sorry I missed this when it posted. Not my intent to be rude. I'm a month late but welcome. Awesome pics of the car. Whenever I see anyones replicar I feel like I'm looking at a true labor of love. Owning a muscle car is always impressive but a replicar is a statement.

Brownie, I dont know how i missed this thread.
Regarding the siren and correct Blue Lens that go with the movie correct beacon bases already fitted to your bopper, give me an email and i will steer you in the right direction.
Being in the fire brigade I have the contacts for those items, they werent originally fitted as time ran out prior to the Auction Night event.
