Max's Jacket....update #2
May I suggest http://www.mainforcepatrol.com/ ? I'm not affiliated with this site in any way, but from a cursory glance it looks like it would be the ideal location for MFPers to coordinate their ids. If that site isn't already maintaining such a registry, the site owner may be able to be convinced to do so.

Max's Jacket....update #2
As my first post, I'll just go ahead and say I'm interested. However it does all really depend on the final price of the jacket. There is a japanese company producing these, but the price is laughable. If the price is reasonable on these, I'de probably be up for two.

Just a suggestion, and it may be as obvious to the rest of you as it was to me, but for the US fans, it would be logical to use the last four of your SSN as a badge number. (I'm talking about the rectangular MFP plate, not the fancy bronze shield.) When we get our jackets, it would be kinda silly for all of us to have MFP 4073. : )
I'm printing mine at work. If it comes out decent I'll see about doing badges at cost for whoever's interested.
And,
Since some of you are too damn lazy to e-mail Doug, let's see who can at least post here with some level of interest in getting a Mad Max jacket.
You know you want one...
Mitch
Or our real badge numbers (those of us that have them anyway), that would be cool as well. I'm looking forward to this one. I just hope they incorporate badge tabs into these like it's been suggested. I cringe at the thought of sticking that heavy badge through leather without a weight or rip stopp support.

Two things, one, the Japanese company is sold out, and its made of horsehide. Thats nice, but NOT film accurate. Two, just try getting one shipped here, very difficult....Mr Doug, I'll be buying a minimum of two, and prolly three as now the woman wants one as well. Would like a pair of gloves, as a backup pair:) Sick Rick

I've been interested from the first mention of suggesting this jacket to Abbyshot, but back then I was working overtime regularly. Right now we got slammed by several things at once, without being able to work overtime to offset the unusual expenses. I don't know when I will be back on overtime, or working regularly for that matter, but as soon as I am the second overtime check will be for a jacket!

Max's Jacket....update #2
After customizing one of my moto leathers I am not totally satisfied with the outcome so I'll commit to one with badge tab and shoulder caps, provided the price comes in well below the Japan version price (for that I can have 2 custom made right here in town!)
From personal experience I can tell you that hoursehide is the best thing to have between you and the pavement when you go down; saved me from a terrible roadrash. Thankfully I won't be using my Max jacket for that so a nice soft cowhide would be great!
If memory serves me correctly the original film version was made of vinyl (except for Goose's) so I hope these aren't THAT accurate either! [just bustin' on ya Rick)Quote: Originally posted by Sick Rick on 07 May 2006
